Played them in September in a tournament, used the X prototype and loved it. Seemed to get a 5 - 8 yard increase on my drives, they landed and stuck to the greens. All around great product, looks like another win by the #1 ball manufacturer in golf!
  2. i’d like to try the proto! it’d be a gas to test!!
  3. I would love to try the new proto pro v1 x. I have been playing titleist balls for 30 years. For me it is the best ball I have played.
  4. How do i get a dozen of the proto 2019?

I would love to give you my thoughts on the new ball, however, I never got any to test!
  6. Feedback on the Titleist 2019 Proto Red
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Course Conditions: Between 45-50*F with wet fairways and soft greens. Winds out of the S / SW at 5-10 mph.

Driver: Noticed better carry and overall distance from the prototype ball relative to my normal Pro V1x, although driver control was diminished (i.e., worse miss-hits from the prototype). Feel was softer than the Pro V1x, without the sense of excessive compression. Additional distance was probably between 5-10 yards.

Woods and Hybrids: Slightly better distance once again, but with sacrificed accuracy (similar to the driver).

Long and Mid Irons: Great feel with excellent (high) ball flight and robust stopping power on the greens. Extra distance was estimated between 3-5 yards, but control from the rough and fairway seemed better with the prototype than the Pro V1x.

Short Irons: Similar flight to the Pro V1x, although green-side stopping ability might have been slightly better with the prototype.

Chipping: No perceptible difference in green-side spin / control.

Putting: Both the Pro V1x and prototype performed well in terms of feel and speed. I use a putter with a rubberized face insert, so feel can be a bit tricky to gauge.

Overall: I liked the improved feel and slightly better responsiveness from the prototype ball, although I'm not sure I would switch immediately based on my amplified miss-hits off the driver and woods / hybrids. That being said, iron control and added distance were a plus.

Titleist Staff, thank you for the opportunity to be part of the 2019 prototype testing cohort!
  7. Got to try the new proto ball. It seem to spin a bit more, and was softer than current ProV1. I’ll definitely be playing this ball next year.
    Thanks

  8. Took the prototype ball out less than a month ago and other than a player ahead of us picking one up and driving off with it, I loved the way they felt off the face of the club. Much better than the previous 2018 version. Seemed like I had more control around the green as well. Throughly enjoyed playing this ball and hope this is what is in store for 2019. I'll switch back to ProV again. Thanks for the opportunity Titleist, much appreciated!

Great reviews by everyone who tested the 2019 version. Looking forward to playing the new ProVs. Nowhere better in golf than TT!!!
  11. I received a sleeve of 3. I play pro V-1 balls now and they where comparable. Felt great off the tee and good on the approach to the green. Rolled great on the green. I really liked them.

Took them with me to Bandon. Lost two of the black numbered ProV1 type which given the fact that we played 94 holes of golf in 3 days isn't too bad. I used the red ProV1x version on the two Par 3 courses. I gave away four (two of the red numbers and two black numbers) to guys that were grouped with my threesome. A little Titleist marketing to potential new buyers.
  13. I’d live to test these out. Right now I play the tour softs and love them. Looking to made the switch to proV1x

Send some protos my way guys.
  14. Hi
I received my proto 19 balls last week. I have played 5 rounds with the same ball so they don't scuff up as quickly as the pro v 1.
Distance off the tee is about the same but for me the check on the green with approach shots is fantastic. I also like the "Bounce" you feel off the putter.

In my opinion the best ball titleist have created. Problem is.....................not sure how it can be improved upon!!!

    Keep up the good work.

    Richard.

I seem to be an every other year test participant, and missed out on this year's Proto. I have always enjoyed testing and being privileged enough to be included, but its probably better this year anyway....the season has been brutal with the amount of rain Western Pa has received. Till next year, keep up the great work Titleist- Team TT !!

For some unknown reason I did not receive the 2019 prototype - is it possible to send me a sleeve as Titleist has in the past?
