  1. Played with a Titleist AVX that I got from a friend. Was completely impressed with the flight and distance. The control was beyond what I expected and it was able to hold the greens (which are the smallest in the state of Oklahoma). I would love to see these hit the stores here.

Just found an AVX in the rough last weekend. I’ll look forward to giving it a test.

    Stay tuned...
  3. I played this ball on Tuesday (3/20) and was impressed. Definitely seemed to provide both a lower ball flight and slight distance increase over my normal ProV1. I will give it a further workout this Saturday and Sunday. I've also played the new TruSoft and would give the AVX the nod if price isn't an issue.

I have been a Pro V1 fan but this ball spins less off the driver thus better yardage. +5-8 yds The green side playability is as good as prov1 on both fast and slower greens. Im a 54yr old 1 hdcp and the extra yardage is helpful. It even performed well in the cold winter months here in central California. My pro gave me one to try and I was pleased. White only though. The optic yellow is not my style!
  5. Played them. Really thought they had great distance not as soft or maybe just a different feel compared to a Pro V1 or Tour soft. Liked them a lot curious about future availability?

I am a 14 handicap, 74 year old pro v1x player. Picked up a sleve at my home course in Oregon. Fabulous ball! Very soft feel and great distance. Seems to jump off the putter face more than pv1x. Bought a dozen for long range test.
  7. I live in Charlotte, NC and just picked up a sleeve of them at the local golf course I used to work at. I done a putting comparison between it, Pro V1 and Pro V1X. The AVX feels amazing. Felt better than the Pro V1s off of the face of my Scotty Cameron putter. Definitely felt better around the green. Can't wait to see how it performs on the course. But based on the putting and feel and what I'm reading thus far, may be having a new ball in the bag.
  8. I am 68 years old and have played the Pro V1X for years due to the distance I was getting. About two months ago, I took lessons and was fitted for a new set of clubs. The new Titleist AVX was recommended by the person that fitted me, said it would give me more distance. Was skeptical, but tried it anyway. WOW, was he correct. Getting 10-15 yards more off the tee with it, driving past my buddies. Now, that's FUN!!! Also am able to go down a club on my irons

As far as scoring, the ball does as advertised, has great control and spin into greens. Sure hope Titleist continues manufacturing the AVX...
  9. The AVX's have a little more "kick" than even the NXTs. I've played the NXT Tour S partly because they offer the ball in yellow and when I tried a sleeve of the AVX's, I noticed a bit more distance (which caught me off guard) but more spin on the greens.

In the PNW, I play in the rain and overcast days (as well as good days) and yellow is just easier to see.

I hope Titleist makes this ball for the entire country. I don't see the downside in having a tour ball that plays this way.
  10. Been playing Titleist golfballs for many years and can say that the new AVX is a great ball for someone looking for a little more distance and great spin control around the greens. Sure the price of the balls are a little high--48 dollars for a dozen but when you have ten times that in your clubs or putter and you want a great game then this is your ball.
  11. This golf ball has totally changed my game. I am longer off the tee, no idea how much but WAY longer. I am certifiably 10 yards longer with wedges and irons. I bought some in Florida before playing. My first two rounds of golf I kept missing long and I didn't realize it was the AVX ball. Finally when I trusted that I was now 10 yards longer with every iron, I was hitting greens repeatedly. I returned to Tennessee and played the AVX at my home course where I know all of my distances on all of the par three holes. I clubbed down on every par 3 and hit every green and closer to pins. 8 iron instead of 7 on two of them and 9 iron instead of 8. The ball checks perfectly! I can get this ball to hop and stop. The Velocity is a longer ball too just like this AVX but I can't stop it like this AVX. I hope Titleist goes nationwide release with this ball. It is a game changer.
  12. I gave one of my AVX balls (just one because you can't get them here in Tennessee) to a golfing buddy of mine and he agrees with me 100%. This ball is a game changer. I am almost 50 and trying to keep distance any way that I can. He is in his early 60s and also wants to belong off the tee and with his irons BUT not resort to balls with no control on greens. This ball is the best we have EVER played. Period. I want Titleist to go beyond limited release with this ball because I don't want this ball to not make it to mass production. However, I also don't want it to because I feel like I have a distinct advantage over golfers that I play with in my weekly points game that do not have this ball or know anything about it.

Wow! Sure hope they fully bring this ball to market! Like most, I have got a little more distance out of the AVX. But the feel!!! For me very soft but not overly so. I have putted extremely well this spring and I'm sure the AVX is part of it. No downside other than cost.. Otherwise a great ball.

Are these going to finally be released to the rest of the country. I saw new retail packaging for them but can't find them in stores anywheres. My initial feelings on the ball were not positive, but since have played 3 rounds away in warmer climates on vacation, and now can't say enough about them. Feel great off of all clubs. Lowers my ball flight with my mid , short irons ( which I really need), and still stops at the other end. The big takeaway is how great they feel off of the putter. I only had optic yellow but am looking to score as many white as possible. Titleist, Please don't stop making this ball.
  15. I'm a 14.7 factor. I have golfed 24 rounds with the new AVX golf ball while in California. I bought 5 dozen and hope they will continue to sell them everywhere. I love the feel, distance I get 10 yards with driver, rescue clubs and irons. I normally have very high spin rates. This ball must be helping to reduce my spin and increasing my distance. I have never liked a golf ball as much as this one. Please make available everywhere.

  17. I was told at my local golf shop that the full release for the new AVX ball will be in May. Is that true? I would like to try them before I get to far into the season with my new AP3’s. Any release date info would be much appreciated.

Tried the new AVX optic yellow yesterday. I was surprised by the additional distance. It was chilly here in southern California, 50 degrees when we teed off at 6:30am. The ball was on average about 10 yards further than the NXT Tour S and TP5 that I normally switch back and forth with. The feel off the driver was softer than the Pro V and NXT Tour S, but not as soft as the TP5. The feel off the irons was so soft and smooth, it was as soft as the TP5. The spin off the irons was perfect, not too much but enough to just stop the ball on the green when it hit. Off the driver the roll out was impressive compared to the NXT Tour S and TP5.

While I was impressed by the ball, the price seems a little high. It was priced $2 higher than the Pro V's. I hope the price comes down to a little higher than NXT Tour S. I would pay $39/$40 for them but I can't justify the $48 per dozen.

I really liked the ball and if price is no object it felt really good and performed, but like I mentioned I can't justify $4 per ball.

Really good ball. Soft feel, super distance, keeps its brightness and seems to be a winner around the green. I agree that the price isa a bit steep. Old guys like me on a fixed income have a hard time with high prices.(73)
  19. Just like any decent ball the AVX is pretty durable as long as u avoid cart paths, trees, and buildings! I found it to be similar in distance with my driver but the irons were a different story! Starting with the 4-6 irons I consistently got 5 to 8 more yards than I do with the Pro V1x. The mid irons 7-9 it was even more like 10-12 yards... But the PW, 50*, 54*, 59* & 64* really took some getting used to because I was getting 15 yards extra for sure every time and damn near 20 sometimes! If ur thinking he just can’t get it to bite you are wrong! I don’t really back up the AVX unless there’s a slope but it’s only rolling about 2 ft at the most with wedges on all of the balls ive hit on the greens! It’s mainly fly distance on my lower irons but the mid irons do seem to roll more than a Pro V1 does! 7 iron unless I play a high cut will roll about 8-12 feet depending on what trajectory is needed! Chipping differences is the reason why it’s not convenient for me to change balls now after 20 years of ProV1’s..... AVX is just different chipping! I bought a dozen and just retired the last 2 to the shag bag so I have played them enough to know that the longer iron shots doesn’t make up for what I was losing chipping! The only chip that’s consistent with this ball is a full on bunker or flop shot. I found myself switching out to a Pro V1 to chip with the for the last 2 sleeves unless we’re playing it down or in a tourney! The ball had so many positives that I’m going to try the other compression version that the Titleist rep said was going to be available when they actually produce the new line! Maybe this other version will be more chipping friendly!
  20. The new AVX ball is incredible. I have used it now in 8 rounds. I am hitting the ball longer by 5 to 8 yards on my irons. 10 to almost 15 yards on my driver. My accuracy is better and the ball checks up with good bite. I am AVX believer. My round this morning was 71.
