  1. My tee shot on the 1st finished on our 8th. My 2nd shot ended up on the 9th fairway. Shot 3 was over the green in rough. Hit a decent chip (been practicing those at home) but missed the 6' bogey putt.
But was I bovvered? Not in the slightest. I was out there again on a beautifully maintained course, in warm sunny weather, with someone I hadn't seen for months.
After the 1st, I started to play nearer my 5 handicap. Not bad for an old geezer of 73.
So, the next day I did it all again.
    Knackered but deliriously happy.
Well done to the Prudhoe green staff & management. We're not called the Home of Champions just because we have more champions than any other Club

  2. No, we aren’t back yet in Scotland. Eager to play but more eager to stay safe. We are slightly behind England, so I would expect things to change incrementally from next week. Whether golf will be allowed or not, I’m not sure, but I hope so.

As much as I have missed it, if I had to choose between playing and not infecting any of my family, golf would be a long way off in terms of priorities.

Stay safe everyone and play well.
  3. Hi,
I live in Scotland , no courses open, lockdown still in place, so no golf for the foreseeable future.
I think it won’t be long until England closes down again as I believe restrictions have been lifted too soon.
Still practising with plastic balls in my garden. Torn between wanting to play and wanting the lockdown to continue.
    Stay safe
  4. Agree with you Dave... also in Scotland, East Lothian and to get the dog walkers of the course when we open will be tough as well.
    Stay safe stay at home!
  5. My course opened on Wednesday and has limited play to 9 holes per person each day and maximum twoballs. Usually they don’t operate tee times (except for competitions) but have implemented a booking system for now to manage the flow of players and enforce social distancing.

Due to work commitments I wasn’t able to get out until yesterday evening but it was lovely to get back out and the course was in amazing condition, even if my golf wasn’t the highest standard! Lost four balls and was +17 over 9 holes(!) but hey, having not played since 22nd March you can’t expect too much. Hoping to get out again Sunday so watch this space.

    Happy golfing everyone. Stay safe.

Played first hole at Gorleston Golf Club with birdie. Played the most easterly Cliff top hole in the UK our par three 7th and hooked my brand new Titleist ProV1x even further East over the cliff into sea. Not a good day.

    Hi Matt,

Got out yesterday with my best golfing buddy. Swing was very rusty, fighting a pull hook off the tee and trying to loosen my aging back. Improved as we went round and both made a couple of birdies in rounds of 77 and 78.
Just great to be out there in the sunshine and see people again.

    Thanks,
    Tony

Hit straight down the middle with a baby draw about 250. Couldn't believe it after a 8 week lay off

    Morning All

Got out twice this week for 9 holes.

So good to get back out.

First drive (TS3 8.5) left of centre on the fairway, 2 shot #4 Hybrid (818) to 12ft. Ball AVX yellow.

Pin was cut on a down slope on a green that was top dressed 20 minutes before.

3 putts (Phamtom X 6) later, walked off with a par. But who cared. It was just good to be out.

Here’s what’s in the back and opening drive and approach shots.

Enjoy your golf everyone that can get out there.

First game in 2 days time, back to work the same day so will be counting the minutes until Monday evening. I’m like a big child lol. 7 weeks and all I can think about is playing golf. Clubs cleaned, trolley cleaned and all ready to go. PS the dog will be delighted to get a rest from walking.
  12. Hi Matt and team,
Played Wednesday morning and playing again in about an hour. Great to get out and let-it-swing again. Course looking great and it was nice to play fairways without divots!! Greens a bit fluffy, but at the moment, who cares!!
Lost 4 balls, so the bag was lighter on the way home, and expect to leave a few more souveniers on the course today.
A two ball took three hours, and the course was busy. Same format later, and looking forward to waving to colleagues on adjoining fairways!
If you're playing Brampton Park Golf Course, my golf balls have a green line and four greem dots.........!
Stay safe everyone and enjoy some freedom.

  13. Forgot to mention that I played in my new Icon winning shoes! Fitted like a glove and comments were passed - jealous comments!!

  14. Hi,
All corses closed as I live in Scotland. Every one so eager to get out but I think that it will be mayhem. All the links courses here have been used for people’s daily exercises like dog walking, walking, cycling and nine golfers are used to that now... the first ball out will face so many issues and might even be some alterations between golfers and none golfers. We will se I hope not. Practice in the garbed has been great

  15. Played this week, 2 ball good spacing and distancing. Club had organised everything exceptionally well.
Even better played 4 below my handicap of 11!!!! Happy bunny.

  16. Wrotham Heath G.C. opened on Thursday - Green staff have kept the course in superb condition. 2 ball play well worked out to ensure distancing rules are fully adhered to. Booking system put in by our hard working Board members using I.G. has worked extremely well. Have a slot booked again for Monday, great to be back playing. If your local to Kent (near Sevenoaks, West Malling) you can still put in a application for membership - Members club and currently no green fees or guests, only members golf.

    Hi Matt

My club Corhampton GC opened on Weds, limiting play to 2 balls for 9 holes until end of May. I’ve been able to play each day so far, and my game is slowly coming back after the 8 week lay-off. I have to congratulate our green keepers and Course Manager For doing a great job in keeping the course in good condition and ready to play.

Looking forward to being able to play 18 holes again in June ‍♂️
  19. Hi Matt
Played yesterday at Stratford oaks golf club, the green keeping staff and management have done a fantastic job on the course and the booking system
The course was immaculate and I didn’t have a bad knock with this little beauty

Hi. Played on Thursday for the first time. Great first drive and a birdie on the ninth. In between there were some awful drives, but otherwise ok.

Played again this morning at a different club and much more steady.

    Thames ditton Surrey England kt70ey,

Played yesterday started bogey bogey bogey double! Settled in finished the front nine 5 over, a double bogey and two birdies on the back nine, started to feel comfortable with a club in my hand! 5 over gross ... fairly happy with that! (Despite losing two prov1x”s)
Most surprising was my short game, with no practice at all it was very good made every up and down!
Blackmoor GC was excellent and the greens were exceptional!
Really surprised at the amount of growth on the course In areas that traditionally had struggled- goes to show how quickly no traffic can aid a course!
