Thanks for including me in the test ball programme. I have at last managed to play the test balls along side my normal Titleist NXT Tour balls. I have to say they perform very similar with perhaps 10 -15 yards more off the tee (may be better in warmer weather !). Control around the greens was very similar. Putting I thought the test balls came off the putter face cleaner and tended to stay on the chosen path. Test ball outer has held up well so far but will need a few more rounds of golf to confirm longevity. Looking forward to playing more golf with the test balls (although not in competitions of course).
    regards Des
  2. Still not used two of the 'Test' balls - Course has been closed , and when open
only on temp greens- Sorry! Can't really try them in those conditions.--Phil.
  3. Apologies for coming late to the party but I was out for a while because of a shoulder injury. My home course is parkland and the wet conditions are not ideal for comparing different balls. However, as others have said, the test balls exhibited straight, penetrating flight with good distance comparable to my usual NXT. The soft greens made judgement of backspin difficult, but feel off the club was good both with irons and putter. The balls also appear to wear well, maintaining a nice white appearance.
Have now had the opportunity to play on a links course and this reinforced my impressions of flight and distance, with 1 of the test balls apparently giving a few yards more. Pitching and chipping control good. In summary, would be happy to play these balls.

A good all round ball. If struck well from the tee, it's trajectory was very good, but hit badly any side spin seems to take it well off line. Pitching and chipping very good if hitting straight shots into the greens. It seemed that it flew higher than my normal Titleist ball. Also, it felt very good when putting.
  5. Hi Hannah,
Re-Test Balls. Very impressed. Flew off the club face of the driver with distance despite the weather conditions. Nice feel when using irons. Chipping around the green, ball comes off the face really nice. Putting. Ball comes off the face nice and soft.

    Huddersfield,

So Hannah, what ball have we been testing?? My guess is the DT Trusoft, especially given the fact that Titleist have spent a lot of time and money on the development of this ball, to try and keep up with the cally supersoft, which is apparently selling like hot cakes!

Sorry to have been so long in replying, but the weather in North West England hasn't really allowed much golf recently. On to the balls.. I really liked them, the red number one suited me perfectly. They have a nice feel off the clubface on both long and short shots, not too soft and not too hard and "clicky". They display a welcome lack of sidespin on full shots while short iron shots stop quickly on receptive greens. I would love to know which ball it is, as I could easily make this my playing ball going forward. Thanks again Team Titleist.
  8. Limited playing time recently and not ideal conditions due to weather but impressed with test balls. Flight on long iron shots was very strong & straight even in windy conditions. Sound of face was nice and feel around the greens was good & consistent.

thanks Team Titleist, after months of waiting for the rain to stop and the course to be open, have finally managed to get out to test the golf balls. Tested them against NXT Tour 2015. First two holes at my course are currently par 3s. First shot was a 8 iron which went 6 yards rather than 2015 ball with good height and unexpected spin. Next hole stiffed pitching wedge to 2 inches with 2015 while test ball cam up short off the slope. didn't manage to hit a good drive until 9th (par 5) where test ball was a 233 drive followed by 208 4 iron, chip and putt birdie. Overall, I feel that the 2015 played and performed better than the test as generally it was longer off the tee than the prototype. the prototype came off the putter face very nicely and had a nice roll to it and gripped well on the greens with good height and spin on occasions. Couldn't tell you if it was my lack of playing opportunities which affected the overall and not really a good enough golfer to talk about the feel of the golf ball, didn't lose it which for me is some sort of record as lost the first velocity test ball after one shot. Many thanks again for allowing me the opportunity to try the balls as made me feel like a professional. I am honoured to be a part of Team Titleist and will remain a loyal member

At long last I have been able to find a dry day to try the test balls. Excellent! Good feel, great off the club face and good control around the green. Seem to add about 10 yards to most shots, which bodes well for the future! Alas, still don't float, and lost 1 of the 3 today. Will use the other 2 at the weekend.
Look forward to seeing these for purchase - usually use Velocity, and hope these are the next phase in development.
Thanks again for the opportunity, and hope I'm not too late for your results.
  11. Hi Hannah,

I received a sleeve of test balls in early November and, dutifully, went out and tested them. The feel is soft, distance is great, direction is straight (but workable), and feel around and on the greens is fantastic.

I never received an email asking for my evaluation, but I can sum it up by stating, "I WANT TO ADD THESE BALS TO MY BAG." Since I am signed up as normally using an NXT, I'll try out the new NXTs and hope they are the same as the ones I tested. I sure want to know what these balls are.

    Again, thank you.

I have been away so only been able to try these in last couple of weeks. The ball flight is good and similar distance to the velocity ball I normally use. I found them good around the greens. They did feel a bit softer than the velocity and I had to adjust to the feel when putting.

Sorry for the late review, suffered a shoulder injury and only just been allowed back to Golf.

The test sleeve I received was the NXT Tour S replacement. I currently play the Chrome Soft and this ball was comparable in everything except short game spin. Very soft feel off all clubs which I like, held its own distance wise across all clubs. The only downside compared to my current ball is it had more roll out than I currently get with my short irons and around the greens.
In short a good ball but given it is the same price point as the Chrome Soft will be staying with the greater short game control

    larkhall,

    Hi Folks,

Just tried these coming out of winter time for new season in Scotland.

Solid off driver and they do travel - definitely more distance from tee than 15 yds easy.

The first ball scuffed badly after a couple of iron shots - (cally) damage very visible.

Putting was okay not as soft as higher Pro V's of teh putter but really not bad.

overall biggest thing was driving distance - very much evident, even early season with very little run.

    Cheers

Hi. I saved my test balls until we had some good weather so I ended up taking them to Spain. They performed exceptionally well in warm weather. Great distance but with some control. Good check off the face of my new SM6 wedges too. Nice feel of the ball off my Scotty Cameron putter :-)
Thanks for allowing me to try them. I hope to learn what they were

    Hi Hannah
Thanks for letting me try the balls. They were impressively long off the tee and had a nice feel with the irons. They worked well with my new SM6 wedges and putted like a dream off the face of my Scotty Cameron putter
Looking forward to learning what they are
    Thanks again

Finally got around to using these free balls.
They feel good to hit and fly beautifully with decent stopping ability.

Really enjoyed using these ball. They felt good off the face when I struck them, had a good flight, and stopped pretty well on the greens.
  19. Hi Hannah,

Back in December of last year, you kindly sent me some test golf balls. I didn't try them out during Winter conditions but have been using them over the Summer.
Great feeling off the tee, with plenty of distance and a good ball flight. Good feel around the greens.
I would love to know if these balls have gone into production and under which name (Velocity, DT truesoft, etc) as I would most certainly consider using them from now on.
Please let me know if you can.
Many thanks for the test balls and allowing me to be part of your test panel.
    Kind Regards
    Thomas Ashbridge
