Looking for some new sunglasses to wear while playing golf. I normally wear Costa Del Mar. Lately I've had to start taking them off while putting because I find it harder to read the greens with them on. Recommendations? What's everyone else wearing?

I've tried almost all of the sunglasses out there for golf. If I don't wear them, my eyes hurt at the end of the day from the bright sunlight.

I got some new Oakleys with golf specific lenses and they seem to be the best. I still take them off sometimes when I putt, but I can putt with them on if I want to. Im not a huge fan of the Oakley look (I think the ones ZJ wears are pretty obnoxious looking). I went into the Oakley store and found a model that is more normal looking and comfortable as well (FLAK 2.0 XL POLISHED BLACK W/ OO9188-05 is the exact one I bought).

    Hope that helps!

I use the Oakley's with "golf specific" lenses as well. The contrasting shade of rose coloured lenses provides great clarity on the course, helping to pick the ball up from the remainder of the background - even whitish/grey coloured skies!

It also helps with clarity and sharpness on bright green putting greens. Where it gets a bit "dicey" is when there is lots of yellowish colour in the grass.

My playing partner loves her Maui Jims too ... super lightweight so you might also want to look at them too.

I wear Oakley bottle rockets. They're polarized and don't break the bank.

    Hi Ned,
I have taken to wearing either my Oakley (golf specific - with the rose coloured lenses) or my regular pair of Persol sunglasses with the blue lenses. They are both polarized.

The Oakley glasses have a very nice contrast to them to help with differentiating shades of green, etc. and work well with reading the greens. They are also great for the fairway/tee boxes as well.

I can finally say that I understand the significance of seeing through rose coloured glasses!

A friend of mine also wears a pair of Maui Jim glasses. They are great too ... super lightweight and come with good lens choices as well.

Regardless, good sunglasses are a must to help block the damaging effects of prolonged exposure to the UV rays.

I'm wearing Oakley Flaks' with the Prizm lenses. I've pretty much worn Oakley's but would take them off when hitting the ball and putting. The new Prizm's are awesome and now I just leave them on the entire round.

I recently had my prescription lenses put in my Oakleys. It has helped a ton. Not sure if you normally wear glasses or contacts, but for a guy with less than sharp vision, I have really enjoyed these. They are just a standard polarized lens. They do feel dark on an overcast day though.
Bottom line is its all personal preference really. Everyone sees a bit differently.

I've tried several different lens tints and have come to the decision that the Oakley G30 is the best for me. Cloudy or sunny I think they provide a crisp clear look at things. Good Luck on your search.

I wear prescription transitional grey. This way I never have to worry. Not concerned about style only about protection and being able to see my golf ball. I wear bifocals, so could not recommend any brand. Followed Kenny Perry's lead years ago.

When I am on the course I wear my Half Jacket Oakleys. Some even say wearing polarized sun glasses help read the slope of the green.
  16. Maui Jim's all the way. Lightweight and polarized. I wear sunglasses in the beginning of the season and transition away from them as I groove my swing. It helps me keep my head down and not move wildly through my swing.
  17. Oakley Half Jacket 2.0. Lightweight and comfortable.
  18. Oakley Prizm or G30 lenses are my favorites. Come in many different shapes/ frames for your liking. Wear them all the time for golf...without taking them off to putt. Spendy...but worth looking into if you are light sensitive like me.

I e been wearing oakley's flak jacket with a couple of sets of lenses I change out. I use the g30 golf lenses and also a pair of smoke gray titanium lenses for bright sun. Have worn them for two seasons

Oakley has a ton of golf style lenses in prizm however I love the old school flak with xlj lenses, especially the flexibility of lenses
