I changed to the 917's in January
Having tried the D3 at a launch /promo day in October 16, I knew it was the driver for me
In Jan I went for a fitting with Titleist at Copperleaf, South Africa
    What a truly awesome experience
That fitting also confirmed my D3 driver is the best fit for me
I got my 2 F2 fairways two days later
Since then my game has gone from strength to strength resulting in my lowest round in 20years, 3weeks ago
Longer more consistent drives and much longer fairways with both the 18 and 15,and I think there is alot of room for improvement
Also, Titleist was the only brand that had their latest clubs available to a lefty like me. Thank you
Awesome clubs, awesome fitting experience. I can't say enough about both

We have discussed how good they feel, sound, and how accurate and long they are but one other area I would like to comment on is how good they look in my staff bag. And the best way is: "a picture is worth a thousand words". It is loaded for a tournament tomorrow and have to show it off. Like Ralphy showing off his new BB gun at Christmas.

After getting the follow-up adjustment on my 917D2 and 917F3 it was off to my first tournament play today. Second person off the tee and my drive was 109 yards from the flag. It was that way most of the day. Granted we were playing senior tees at 5800 but was hitting wedges most of the day. Longest driver of the day was 260. Best I have hit the driver since I purchased it. Think I only hit two drives out of the fairway all day. No one in our foursome could stay with me. This baby is a monster, once dialed in. Got to the point where I had to go back to the fairway on some of the par fours so I could have a full shot to the green. The fairway performed extremely well putting me into scoring position also. Nice flight and distance which I was expecting. The investment is good when you are hitting your second shots from the middle of the fairways.

Nice Bag Chuck!! You set the standard for TT members.

BTW, I am scheduled to see Bill at Rivertowne. Hopefully, he will help me clarify the situation with my driver shaft selection issue.

I have tested the 917 twice. Both fittings led to the same head recommendation - 917 D3. But, the shaft and hosel recommendations were different. So, I am stuck in the "world of confusion".

Got my fitting appointment Wednesday at my Club. Going in with what has seemed to work best for me and then let the experts either tweak it, tell me I'm not as stupid as I look, or put me off in a different direction, the right direction. Keep you posted how it goes.
  7. I have the 917D3 and 917F3, and they have both greatly exceeded my already high expectations. The best way to describe these clubs is: the 917D3 is like cheating, it's that good; and the 917F3 is an absolute missile launcher.

•How do your 917s compare to your previous driver/fairway metals?
---I'm about 10 yards longer than my previous 910D3 on center strikes with the 917D3. On mishits, there's simply no comparison--it's almost a joke how good this thing is on off-center hits. My 917F3 15* is about 10 yards longer than my previous swoosh SQ 13*, and much easier to hit off the deck.

•Have you noticed a difference in feel and sound?
---The 917D3 feels and sounds like a mix between the 910D3 and 983K, both of which I absolutely loved. The 917F3 has a very muted feel and sound, almost similar to the 904f, which may be the best feeling and sounding fairway metal ever made.

•Are you seeing gains in distance? Accuracy? Both?
    ---Both.

•How about forgiveness? Are your misses better?
---It's almost a joke how forgiving these clubs are, especially the 917D3.

•Specifically for new fairway owners, how versatile is your 917F? Do you have confidence off the turf as well as the tee?
---The 917F3 is extremely versatile: easy to elevate off the deck but still able to produce low bullets off the tee when needed. I am extremely picky when it comes to 3 woods, and it's like pulling teeth to get me to change once I find one that I like (i.e. previous 3 wood was an original swoosh SQ 13* that I picked up for free as a donation--stayed in my bag for over 10 years).

•And most importantly, are you playing better, shooter lower scores with 917s in the bag?
---Handicap went from around 3-5 over the past few years to 1.3, and trending down. Most of the improvement can be credited to better driving, which has gone from a weakness to easily my biggest strength. I should also note that my big improvement with the driver is not simply a product of using a properly fit club v. a poorly fit one. My 917D3 and 910D3 are both 8.5* set at A-1, and I am using the exact same shaft in my 917 that I had in the 910.
