Going out tomorrow weather not going to be great but I will give the (2021) pro V1's a go. I have played this course many times in not so good weather with the pro V1's (2019) so I know how it usually plays for me. I really want to see what it does in the wind update after high desert wind and cold...

I was pleasantly surprised by the mailman the other day ... a sleeve of the new ProV1's :)

I got out for a round with them, unfortunately it was 27* when I teed off. So I didn't get much in terms of performance that I was looking for just because of the temperature. I did like the trajectory ... a more flighted trajectory vs the previous iteration. Pretty good distance for the cold. Hit it vs other OEM's balls (Bridgestone, cally) & it did go further than both of them but only a few yards. The greens were like hitting concrete, so there wasn't much in terms of green performance except out of the bunker. The bunker shot was clipped perfectly & it spun great back to the hole.
Putter feel .... it was nice & soft. Durability ... only one round on it, but it held up nice with barely any marks, except "green ones" from perfect shots :)

More to come .... hopefully the weather gets better.

  3. I recently received the very unexpected package with the white incognito box. The new ball is outstanding and will make me a better player as I don't want to lose them on the course. Thanks Titleist awesome as always.

  5. Hey everyone...

I have finally got to play with mine a few times and am super happy with the feel around the greens.

Also.. the new marking on the side is much better to my eye while putting (small thing, but really made a difference for alignment on the greens).

I got a box of Pro-V1’s over a week ago. Was able to try them out over the past weekend and absolutely LOVED the new Pro-V1. I usually play the AVX but really liked the flight and feel of the new Pro-V1. I had 3 well struck drives and noticed the difference in flight and distance immediately. The new Pro-V1 and my new TSi3 were working fantastically. Irons and short game noticed the difference as well. Feel, spin and durability were excellent.

I’m going to put the New Pro-V1 in the bag.

    Thanks Titleist!

I had the same experience. I currently used the AVX so was curious about the new Pro V1 and I really liked it on the green, around the green and from the tee. Sound and feel were crisp and I really liked the ball flight and action on the green. Great ball!

Happy to get my sleeve of ProV1x's, Thank You TeamTitleist. Tried them and love the feel of the wedges
around the green. Ball flight good off driver, distance for me about the same, maybe gain some when I
get new TSi2 that I'm waiting on! Keep up good work.

I received the 2021 Pro V1s in the mail and started my evaluation. My plan is to start from the green and work out to the longer shots and give my humble feedback starting with the putter and working out to the driver.

On the green with the Putter: I started with 3 standard Pro V1s and 3 of the just received 2021 Pro V1s. I started putting from 60 ft, then 30 ft, then 15 ft, and then 5 ft. I hit putts from each distance with each type of ball at least 12 times for each ball. I was looking for feel and sound differences and also any roll out or distance variability.

On the green findings: There is a feel and sound difference but there was no perceptible roll out or distance difference. The sound for the 2020 Pro V1s was more of a hollow and louder strike while the 2021 had more of a softer and quieter strike. It was most noticeable on the longer putts as you would expect but was still very noticable on the short putts at 5 ft. The feel in my opinion was a bit more "crisp" with the 2020 ball and "softer" with the 2021 ball. The feel aspect was a bit more difficult to discern. I was using the Scotty Cameron Phantom putter. The greens were stimping at about a 9.

My preference: I like the 2020 Pro V1 sound and feel. So my initial preference is the 2020 Pro V1. I like feedback and I really like the crisp feel and the hollow sound feedback that it gives. A soft and quiet feel feels like the cally ball I used to use and since switching to Titleist I don't want to give that away. That's my first take and the verdict is out until I try chipping, pitching, irons and woods.

    That is coming next.

I'm reading other feedback with interest! I welcome your feedback.

  12. Team Titleist Staff,

Thank you for the sleeve of 2021 Pro V1x balls.

To test them I took them to Van's Pro Shop in Phoenix and worked with Dan, the best! Things went pretty much as I expected but with a surprise. I typically play either the Titleist Velocity for its distance or the Pro V1x for its green side spin.

Using the monitor we found that with my gap wedge (Vokey SM8 52.08 F) the 2021 Pro V1x jumped to 10,327 as compared to the 2020 model at 9,376. So that is great!

With my 7 iron (620 MB) the spin was equal and the yardage was 2 more with the new 2021.

The surprise came with my driver. With the Titleist Velocity the yardage came in at 269. With the 2020 Pro V1x the yardage came in at 255. Both of those numbers are comparable to my play on a course. The surprise was the 2021 Pro V1x coming in at 270 yards! So this new ball solves my dilemma of choosing between distance and back spin. The 2021 Pro V1x gives me the best of both worlds! I have 3 dozen of the other two balls to use, but after that it will be the 2021 Pro V1x all the way. Thank you Titleist!

Was very happy to get a chance to evaluate the 2021 Pro V1X. I tried one and gave one to my golf buddy and the 3rd to my wife.

We all agree it plays like a ProV1. Feel is outstanding and the feel is great as well.

Two major observations. First the ball flight seemed to be a bit flatter offering a better penetrating ball flight. Second, it did not seem to be as durable as the previous ball. Normally it seems I can get 36 holes out of the old ball (if not lost along the way). The 2021 was just a bit rough after 27 and I took it out of play.

I don’t expect wild improvement or crazy distance changes from a new ball. But the 2021 ball is clearly a great performing ball and I fully expect it will keep Titleist Number 1.

  15. Firstly I'd like to thank Titleist for their generosity in sending me a white box pack of the new 2021 Pro V1x ball.
I was thankfully able to test the ball on a warm weekend earlier in January up in NY.

My first impression is that the ball has extremely high amounts of short game spin. From full swing wedges down to pitch and chip shots around the green. I was able to spin the ball back to the front of greens, which is something I do not ordinarily do, however I'd note my local course has highly receptive greens. It is worth testing the Pro V1s if you are a player that either struggles with short game spin, or if you play on a course with firm & fast greens that require a lot of stopping power.

The second characteristic I noticed was the firm feel on the iron and wedge shots. This is more likely because I play cast irons that feel firm with any ball, but it's still worth noting that the feel is not as soft as compared to the regular Pro V1.

The third aspect I'd note is the higher flight off the tee and with mid irons. The Pro V1x does seem to give some help with launch in these areas, which may help some golfers with carry distance.

What I find most interesting about Titleist golf balls is that I more often tend to prefer the regular Pro V1 over the Pro V1x, even though on paper the Pro V1x should suit me better as I need more launch, spin, and distance. I play courses with soft conditions and receptive greens, so the regular Pro V1 has more than enough spin for that (it's not lacking in spin), and I prefer the soft feel on wedge shots.

There isn't a discernable difference in distance between the two balls on long shots for me.. I'll admit that I regularly carry both the Pro V1 and Pro V1x in the bag, and I'll choose the ball based the course conditions for that day.

Thank you again Titleist, and I am proud to be a Team Titleist member.

  16. The first of my “white box” Pro V1’s I unfortunately lost after just 27 holes. But the second ball now has just shy of 36 holes on it yet I can not find a single mark or bruise on it. And it has seen its share of “non fairway lies”, believe me!

As was the case with the last few generations, this new ball is very durable. My go-to favorite SM7 SW is pretty much worn out so I just acquired a replacement SM8 54.14F and in my next round I’ll see how that Pro V1 holds up to factory-fresh Vokey grooves.

I played a morning nine today with my white box.

There was a noticeable difference versus the tour speed. I’m looking for the main thread to comment now.

I got mine earlier this month and played them today.

    WOW.

I’m looking for the main post to comment. No more tour speed for me.

  19. Sure wish it would warm up so I can hit these. I don't know how yall Northerners play golf in Feb. I need 50* at least!
  20. Are white box sleeves (Or any samples) available to us in the UK?
  21. I got a sleeve also and liked the new ball. Especially around the green they checked just the right amount. The only unfortunate thing was I have been in a slump.

The hard part or the cool part actually is that the ball felt more lively off the driver and yet remained very sticky around the greens. Yes it felt great off the irons too. My wedges and short irons were spinning back or at least staying put where they hit the green.

I forgot pictures but I really like this ball. I live and play in south Florida so every course is some form of bermuda grass; typically Celebration fairways and tiff eagle greens.
