Well I was at one of my favorite golf store haunts today and they had two dozen AXV one in each color. With living in Ky and all the Bermuda fairways being dormant brown I got the yellow dozen and Wow!

I have a moderate swing speed 90-95 with the driver and this ball preforms well for me. Considering the current weather here mid to high 30's it's really hard to make a fair comparison of the ball. So I played two shots from every spot tee box to green on my home course using a 2017 Prov1 as my second ball and here is what I have to say.

The new AVX for me was much softer feel than the Prov1 on all shots especially the driver. Distance wise I saw slight gains form all shots mainly the driver 5-10 yards on avg. ball flight was similar to V1 as was spin. Greenside control was very good and the ball behaved very well off the putter face. Overall I highly recommend this ball and for all the people on here requesting a optic yellow ProV1 here is your chance with a few enhancements thrown in.

    Great job Titleist!

I played AVX for 3 rounds. I found that the AVX flew lower off the driver then the cally supersoft, but has a much better roll out.
The AVX putted real soft, nice feel and good for distance control.
The best issue was great spin on close to the green shots, much better then the cally and the NXT Tour which I also play. Not sue where Titleist will place the ball with price.

Live in Florida one of the AVX trial states. These balls are "fairway finders", as long as my V1X and soft like V1, Would like to see them priced as their competitors are pricing their comparables. Need to be a lot less than the premium V1 and V1X.

I bought a dozen of the AVX optic yellow and have played several rounds with them. The feel seems softer than the ProV1X yet the distance is slightly longer. Control around the greens is 'stop and drop'. The participating shops in the Phoenix area are charging $64.95/dozen, but I negotiated $57 including tax. That's a very expensive ball for an average player. . . if the price is lowered to something more reasonable, it will be my ball of choice. (I play either the ProV1X or ChromeSoft TruVis, depending upon visibility conditions.)

I found this ball in deep rough and played it. 15-30 yards longer off the tee, great feel off my irons. I live in CA and can’t find a location to purchase a dozen.
  6. Had the pleasure if test driving the new AVX ball. From a feel perspective awesome control in finesse shots where spin was paramount. Very happy with distance control and shot shaping results. Cant wait to be able to purchase.

  7. My experience with the avx.the ball felt softer at impact with all clubs, including the putter.I noticed a slight increase in distance.I still prefer the feel of the pro v1 during the winter and the prov1x in warmer weather.
  8. I have only gotten to play 1 round with the AVX but liked it I have never been able to stop a ball on the green like this ball stops
  9. Played the AVX during my last five rounds here in Hawaii don't know how our golf store got them but they did so I went ahead and bought 2 dozen one for a buddy who is a higher handicapper. Ill start of with the look of the ball and keep it simple...it looks just like a Bridgestone with the dimple pattern. The alignment is almost exactly the same as a ProV. When it comes to the actual performance of the golf ball itself i will say it feels really soft all around but didn't perform any better than the ProV1 or ProV1x off the tee or with Irons. I will say i enjoyed the short game with the AVX quite a bit if it has anything on the Pro V series i think its in this area but it seemed to have nice grab on the greens and was easy to control. That being said its the same price as the Pro V1 and X and there isn't much difference at all minus the look of the ball that i stated in the beginning. if these were priced 5 to 10 dollars cheaper I'd really consider changing balls but for me ill play the ProV1X but if you haven't tried them yourself id try to get your hands on some and see for yourself we play golf its fun to try new things.
  10. Over the years, I've tested all the premium balls on the market both in a studio( have access to one) and in the field. This ball performs as advertised! Exceptionally long with a soft feel. I've played a couple rounds and I'm ready to replace the balls I currently alternate between. The Bridgestone BX/BXS and the TM TP5/TP5. I like the distance of the Bridgestones and the feel of the tms. This ball gives me the best of both worlds. It's a good combination of ball speed and spin. The same analogy could be applied to the ProV1/ProV1x line. I would use this ball exclusively if Titleist decides to bring this to market as currently produced. I would pay the premium price.
  11. I played a sleeve at Disney Palm yesterday. Very happy. Will buy more when they are sold in RI.
  12. Ken I bought a dozen at Golfers Wharehouse in Cranston.
  13. Played these today and seriously added 10 yards to my tee shot. I’m buying as many as I can get my hands on as soon as I can.
  14. Played these today and Wow! Added 10 yards to my tee shot. My new go too.

I bought dozens of AVX Balls via eBay and Amazon.
Soft feel, smooth & roll on putting, 15 yards more on irons and 20 yards more on the woods.
Aesthetically looks great, new look dimples. Surface color and sustainability much better than the ProVi.
The value is much more than the ProVi and good to learn its cheaper than the Japanese Titleist premium balls.
Why not start selling commercially world wide so it would be cheaper than the eMarketplace prices.

“AVX IS DESIGN FOR THE SEEKER” quote on the box?
Played the AVX in Palm Beach FL. yesterday with a Pro Caddie friend of mine.
After 18 holes, All I can say is, “ WOW “
I am an 18 handicap, playing from the green tees. Not very long offf the tee, I was extremely surprised as to how far this ball travels.
My friend is a 4 handicap, playing from the blue tips and bombs the ball off the tee, 280-320
To fairly compare the ball, weekend player vs scratch golfer in real time setting, we played 1 ball each the entire round.
For the weekend golfer, this may be the GREATEST BALL EVER MADE.
ON THE AVERAGE, my drives were 40-50 yards farther than I have ever hit any ball. The most amazing thing to me was how STRAIGHT the ball carried.
Every club in my bag played 10-15 yards longer.
Short chips where rolling out very nice, and putting was similar sound as NXT-S

The most amazing thing for my friend was stopping distance on the greens.
3 Times He hit irons from 160-180 yards out, hit the green and the ball was 6” from the impression on the green!
His only dislike was that the ball carried perfectly straight, with little or no spin?
He had some difficulty trying to fade the ball, but it cut thru the wind with no problem.
This may not be the ball for scratch golfers, but for weekend amateurs who need confidence off the tee, this is the ball that will change your game.
Never thought I would brag about a ball that cost $48.00 a dozen, but this ball gets a 5 star from me

  17. Erie Pa is in 12" of snow. That being said, tried them in my putting rug. Here
Calaway, NXT Tour, Pro V1/ProV 1 X. Outstanding ! Sound, feel accuracy was amazing. My profile is 67yrs old-20+ handicap-png I3+ blades-TM driver. Playing golf since I was 10.
  18. Played the AVX in Florida this last week. Was very soft and the feel was great. Play PROV1X but this ball is better. purchased 2 dozen while I could get them. It's a ball you have to play...

Great ball. I've played with these for two rounds. The ball is practically indestructible as it's extremely durable. For me, I saw added distance from the ProV1 and the Chrome soft, but with the same control as those balls around the green. It felt good off all clubs. I just wish the price were more inline with the cally Chrome Soft.

Just played the new AVX in Tampa, FL. I was pleasantly surprised by the performance and feel of the golf ball. The distance was the same as my ProV1x, but much softer feel when coming off the putter face. The ball had one hop stop on the greens when coming in with longer mid irons and even pulled pack with wedges. Very happy with the new product.
My father who doesn't normally hit the ball very far also loved the new AVX. He agreed that the ball felt very soft coming off the putter face and he gained about a club in distance compared to the Tru-softs that he normally plays. He also had no difficulty stopping the ball on the greens on his approaches.
  21. Played in somewhat chilly South Carolina weather. Driver may have been a few yards longer but hard to tell for sure. Wedges stopped on a dime, felt like there was a lot of spin on chips and pitches. Really like me the ball.
