  1. I received the Titleist # 1 "TEST" balls about 10 days ago and finally got out to play a round due to the weather in the northeast. What I noticed is the ball had a click sound when I made contact; had about the same trajectory that I am used to with driver, not as high as my iron shots normally are; seemed a tiny bit shorter in distance but I could attribute that to the 49 degree temp we had yesterday; but seems to be a very straight ball. I had very little dispersion using driver, which is good. Seemed ok around the greens, not much different than the Pro VIX I play. I prefer the current Pro VIX I play. Thanks Titleist for the opportunity to test your golf ball.
  2. Played my 3 rd round with the test golf balls Saturday October 30th.
Temp was 68 and the ball was jumping off the clubs
Drives were straighter and several yards longer than my other pro v1's
Last 2 rounds were played in 60 degree or cooler and ball was harder to get distance
    Putted better as well
Played from the back tees yardage was 7400+ and shot a 91
Very happy with these balls would love to have a boat load of them

Just played the "test" ball. Wow! Seemed to go about 10-12 yards farther and felt very soft off the putter. Thank you for the opportunity to test these out. Please send my more.
  4. Finally had the chance to get out and play with these test balls. I found the playability to be very much the same as the prov1x. Spin seemed to be about the same as the current golf ball. However, I found the cover to not be as durable as the current ball. Thank you team Titleist for the opportunity to demo these balls!

I got the sleeve and took one for myself and gave the other two to two of my friends who are also single digit Senior Golfers. We all loved them. Candidly, I could not tell much difference in distance, but I love the feel when pitching, chipping and putting.

Thanks for allowing me to be part of your Test Group.

Thanks Titleist for giving me the opportunity to participate in the test program again. I finished my evaluation today having played the test balls 3 times in the last week. Loved the new ball. Seems to fly higher off the irons and land softer on the greens, especially out of the rough. Great around and on the green with great feel and very predictable distance control. I look forward to the next set of test balls.
  7. I played the test balls that I was sent against the 1x. The test ball that I played seemed to me like it was much harder off of the driver and irons but just as soft off the putter. The ball would check well on the greens but didn't spin like I thought they would.

I received my prototypes a week ago and put them into play yesterday. Soft feel off of irons and putter. Great durability. Cannot wait for finished product!

I just recently tested the prototype golf balls I received and WOW! These balls were much better than I expected. I went in under the assumption that it would basically be the same ProV as before, the only difference being in price. But I was wrong. Previously, I was kind of caught between the ProV1 and ProV1x simply because I liked the distance off the driver with the 1x, however I much more enjoyed the softness of the normal ProV. Now though, it seems that Titleist has constructed a ball that, for me at least, checks all the boxes. It was longer off the tee; held well in the wind (so much so that I actually overcompensated for the wind--the ball simply pierced through); approach shots had lots of stopping power; greenside control- excellent. Well done!

Received my sleeve of test balls about week and a half ago. Finally got to play a round today at the Greystone golf course in Washington, MI. It was a cool, windy Fall day, 49 F but felt more like 5 degrees cooler. I like the responsiveness of the test ball. Had no problem hitting a high trajectory shot when I needed it. I'm a drawer of the ball and when I needed a fade the ball responded great. Because it was a cold day, it was difficult to gauge if I gained any distance with this ball. What I can say is that it felt and sounded great, the spin on the greens is fine, i.e., not too much or lacking in spin. On my next round, I'll bring a couple of srxn z-stars and hit both balls off a few of the holes so I can compare the two. Till next time...

This was my first time to test a prototype. I spent the first round seeing what the ball did and the second round loving my short game. I believe the ball was the pro-v red it merely says test. I love what it did off the short irons. I was playing in the wind and noticed it seems to cut into the wind better than my old ball. Thank you Titleist.
  12. Finished with the sleeve of Test Pro V1x (red 1). Could be the temperatures here, but the cover on these felt harder than the previous Pro V1xs which I normally play. No change for me on distance.

I received the prototype balls (assume prov1x based on the red number) last week and just had the chance to put them in play today. It was a cool day here in WI; about 52 degrees. Comparing them to my normal go to ball (prov1x), I found off the tee they had a very similar mid flight trajectory that is typical for me. Iron shots were on par with normal. Green side control was great with what seemed like considerable more spin than usual. Many of my 100 yard or less approach shots were spinning back 3 feet when it's usually a check and stop. Overall, they had a firmer feel and had a louder sound on impact off the driver, yet performed very well. Without question I would game this ball.

Thank you Titleist for the opportunity to be a tester!

Generally, the test Pro V1 played well. It was stable in the wind on short iron shots. It had a significant amount on spin in the greens. In fact, it had too much spin for my preference, primarily due to the spin off the driver. Also, I hit one slighty thin shot (still a decent shot) that resulted in a small cut on a ball. I haven't seen a similar cut since I played with the old Titleist balata balls. It you need more spin, this is a good option.

Finally got a day with acceptable time and weather to give the Test balls some play. I thought they played very similar to the current ProV1x's I play. Perhaps a hair shorter on the tee, a hair less side spin with the irons, and weirdly a little bit longer (but straighter) with my wedges. However, the durability was amazing. No scuffs with the same ball for a full round which is unheard of for me.

Thanks for the opportunity, and for the amazing product!
  16. Received the Test balls with black numbers. Finally got out for a round last Friday, very windy day. Thought that my distances were about the same, really thought the ball held it's flight in the wind. Also, the check around the green was a lot better than I normally have,
  17. Received my three test balls. Weather was bad so i putted with them in the basement on carpet. I compared and hit them with my other ProV1 and ProV1x. After a hundred putts or so, my summary was that the test ball felt more like the ProV1 and felt as good or better feel overall. Yesterday, i took them to PGA Superstore and demoed a new 917 D2 and my current gamer (915D4). I was having a bad day and had way too many slices to be able to gauge how well the ball performed. I'm not blaming my off day on the ball. I will say that after 100 shots, the ball had no signs of wear. Looked very durable.

I received my test balls a couple of weeks ago and due to weather conditions here in Michigan I delayed my using them but kept getting an email asking to do the survey. So here is what I found. I felt that overall the Pro V1X was the better ball, but then again I am sure the weather conditions may have influenced my decision since the Pro V1X is my everyday ball and know what the basic results are using them Don't get me wrong, I think the test balls were very comparable and probably after more trials might even like them equally.
PS, I did lose the test balls after a couple of rounds, dam leaves! :)

Thank you for the opportunity.. Great ball great feel and pretty long off the tee. The sound off the driver was a little flat, but was perfect off the irons.. The cover was durable and wasn't scuffed after 18.. I see in the posts above many comments about being *New* ProV1 I would like to know that for certain. I will purchase this ball in the future.. (once I know what it is..)

I received my test balls about two weeks ago. I would have played them sooner but my wife forgot to tell me about the package I received. LOL.

I played the balls yesterday. they appear to be the ProV1 because of the black numbers.

With the driver and irons, they played very similar to the ProV1s I play now. It was a windy day yesterday here in Dayton Ohio and I have to say these balls seemed to hold there line in cross winds better than the ProV1s I play now.

Where I was really impressed was the half wedge spin. I had a 75 yard shot and a half Lob wedge not only checked but spun back about a yard.

Chipping and putting there was no noticeable difference to the ProV1s I play now.
