Received the ProV1x test golf balls, played three rounds with them. It seemed to go farther off the tee but felt just a little harder than the last model.

I've played two rounds with the TEST balls I just received. Shot my lowest round of the season the first time out with them! Second time out - shot under my handicap. Balls seemed to fly straighter, landed soft and held the greens. Maybe it's all subconscious, but I would love to know what I'm hitting so I can get more when available!

The new ball is outstanding, with explosive jump off the club face, the ball seems to have a better hang time with about 5-10 yards further. The ground was wet when I played could not get a good feel on how the ball preforms around the green. All in all the ball is longer than the old one, and we all want more distance!!

  4. I am very happy to be part of the 2016 golf ball testing selected bunch. At this time of the year I am unable to get out and give them a go due to weather conditions. Maybe in the future Titleist can send them out a little sooner for us in the north east. I have opened the box tho and by the feel of the cover seem to be softer. I will leave actual feedback if I get out this November. Thank you Titleist for a great golf ball already. Don't change (to much) what already works so well.

I received my proto v1x last week and went out the next day. We played in the rain and we're the only ones on the course so I was able to play multiple balls. The protos felt great of the driver and flew farther then last years v1x and swoosh rzn tour platinum. Off the irons the protos had more pop and held more of a straight line on draws and baby fades than last years model and the rzn. I hit a higher ball flight and the protos had lower flight than the other two, not drastic but definitely noticeable. On the wedges they felt amazing from full SW in. Because of the rain I wasn't getting much spin into the green from a distance but around the green about 40 and in the protos definitely were biting. They feel amazing off the putter as well. There is a noticeable difference between them and the rzn and a slight difference in feel from last years v1x, the protos are the softest of the three. Definitely a buyer of these bad boys!

Thanks for the opportunity and can't wait for the oppportunity to help test more in the future.
  6. I received a new test sleeve last week, I assume that the balls were a pro v 1. I tried them with an older driver and my current one. The ball seemed to be a little straighter and felt a little more towards the sound of the surlin cover. I will play with it more and follow up with more feedback. Thank you Titleist will respond after next round.
  7. Tested the Pro v1 this past weekend. I found that I got about 10-15 more yards off the tee, got 10 more yards along with higher flight. A different sound than prior Pro v's. A little more of a soft dud sound as opposed to more of a smack sound. Felt great off the clubs and soft off the putter.
I would like to test the Pro v1x if they have those test balls. Hoping Titleist will send me more to test. PLEASE DO

Tested the new balls I had received and was quite impressed with the feel. Driver thru my wedges the feel of the ball was quite nice. On my driver I noticed more side spin than usual and had to play for a mild slice. My other ball flew its normal pattern. The side spin surprised me quite a bit. The feel and backspin were very nice with my wedges. Long irons into the green also felt like I had control over my height and distance. I found my pitch and runs and any short shot to have the best feel ever. A big thank you to Titleist for letting me be a part of the solution.

the prototype ball feels softer than the current PRO V1 flies further and putts as good would change to that ball for the distance and lower spin rate, feels great.

Not much difference with Prov1x. A little less runout after hitting greens (6-8 ft.) especially with flop shots both short and long. Better feel on chips and putts.
    Trajectory and flight path similar.

Received them last week & had to play in 2 club wind condition; imo the click is louder, distance is a tad longer off the irons & height is about the same as my V1's. Both balls stop about the same on the green. Off the Driver, distance seems about the same for both. The prototype is a bit longer on putts also... Perhaps I can try them again if we get a calm day...

I received a sleeve of three "test" balls. I loved playing with them. I got better distance then from hitting my normal ball, Titleist Pro V! They seem to have a softer feel off the club face. Please send me more!! I would like to keep testing & testing & testing them!! Thanks!

I have been fortunate enough to participate in these tests for several years. It is always a ball (pun intended). My playing friends get jealous. Having read many of the posts, I find it interesting that the majority of the testers assume that it is a "new Pro V". I do not assume that as I have recently found the NXT TourS and am now a loyal user.
The curse of Northern Ohio this time of year is a pretty constant temp of 50's with some wind. I can layer up but the balls assume the temperature of the day. My constant observation of the prototype ball was that it was a harder feel and sound - much like I experience with the PRO V when I find one. Even off the putter face it was a much more definite "click" than the NXT TourS. It is reminiscent of some Callys that I have played. Possibly it was the temperature but if it was, it affected the prototype more than the NXT.
Surprisingly, when hit solidly both balls performed exceptionally well. Thanks again Titleist for the privilege of participating.

  14. I played the Test Red balls today and thought I owe it to Titleist to give my 2 cents for the way they value their customers! I play the Prov1x and have been thinking about switching to the ProV for the putter feel, but these felt great off the putter! Distance with the woods in 60 degree weather was exceptional and as my playing partner told me the straightest I've hit all year! I felt confident but I also payed close attention to my swing and the ball to give Titleist a decent review. Irons had the same distance to me, but short game felt softer and easier to judge distance. I would def purchase this years ProV1x ball. Hope this helps at all.

    Thanks Titleist

I normally play NXT Tour & feel that it is 1/2 club longer off my irons than a ProV1x. These Prototype balls go equally as far as the NXT Tour. I got a few more yards off the driver & great feel w/ the test balls for both driver & irons.
Nice soft feel for wedges & chips w/ nice "bite & check" w/ test balls.
Good solid to soft feel w/ putter.....not a "hard cover" feel at all.
I have tested for several years in the past & being in Indiana I wish we would get these balls in August or September when we have more normal to free swing than a cooler swing in late October. ( Sweaters & jackets ! ) Cold air & wind calls for an extra club which is a detriment for testing also.
Thanks for letting me be a part of your testing ! Hope to find out what kind of Titleist ball this test call really is---or will be .....please let us know !

Love the prototype Titleist balls. Mine were black #1 model. I have played 6 rounds using the new balls and have (only) lost two. Most impressive was the distance, especially off the tee. Every club in my bag was 5-10 yards longer. It took awhile to adjust so that I wasn't over the green on approach shots. Thanks Titleist for the opportunity to test these balls. Would love to know which model mine are so that I can load up on them!

Played with the new test ball yesterday at a club tournament. It had a little different feel and sound when I took my first few putts on the practice green but quickly got used to it. Got just what I expected from a Titleist golf ball out on the course. Great performance!
  18. Great ball but didn't seem like it was just as soft as a PV1 so maybe I didn't have the correct Proto type but all in all in a Titleist Ball is good!

Played one of the new test balls yesterday in very windy conditions here in Western New York (a Buffalo suburb). Got good distance despite the wind. Felt like my drives were a little longer, lower and more penetrating, while iron shots were nice and high and stopped pretty quickly on approach shots to greens.
  20. Thank you very much for the test balls. They are Incredible! Every drive went straight as an arrow and LONG! Approach shots went flag hunting. Punts came off the putter directly on line. Ok ok, I was dreaming.
Thanks again for including me in the test.
