  1. I have tested the new 2017 golf balls. I compared them to the 2016 NXT-S Yellow golf balls. I played them side by side in a scramble style format. It was about 57 degrees outside and a slight breeze!

Overall, the new balls provided a consistent longer distance than the NXT-S balls. I also don't get a lot of rollout on my balls, but these seemed to rollout more overall too.

On the greens, while putting, they seemed to react very similar.

I would say that the new balls are much better! I am looking forward to the new ones to officially be available! (I would only hope that they can be in yellow - so I can see them better!)

The new test golf balls I received felt like they were a midway point between the ProV1X and the ProV1. They were slightly softer with more spin the X, but longer off the tee with less spin than the ProV1.

Thank you for the Test Pro V1's, my feedback is as follows. I did like the feel and responsiveness of the new balls. What I really noticed was the spin around the greens. I don't normally apply a lot of spin but these balls really grabbed the green and held. I was very impressed. Driving and iron play seemed slightly longer than usual for me another plus. Thank you for the opportunity. If you have any other questions, please let me know.
  4. Played the new prototype balls on two occasions. First round was 45 degrees and windy. The ball reacted well even into a stiff wind. Played first 9 with ProV1 and second with the prototype which seemed to jump off the face better and carried farther. Played again yesterday in 75 degree weather, the ball really was lively, seemed to go at least another 5 yards+. Putts were true, really thought it was a great golf ball

Just played the Test balls this weekend and they were great. Solid Feel off the tee, wedges and rolled well. Would have to guess they were ProV1's.Shot under par on one of the 9's this weekend. Love them!

I used the prototype ProV1x for 18 holes yesterday in 80deg weather here in Pennsylvania. Really loved the ball with every club except for the driver. Driver miss hits seemed to not travel as far as usual. Also the ball felt harder and heavier off the club face with the driver and more-so on off center hits. I really had no issue with the ball on center struck driver hits. I was really impressed with the ball from long irons down to half wedges, the ball seemed to have a more penetrating ball flight with the same spin you would expect. It really seemed as if the ball resisted the urge to balloon or be effected by wind. Control around the green was great even with many different shot styles the ball performed better than the current model. It was easy to feel confident that the ball would perform as intended. Driver issues aside I definitely would be interested in purchasing this ball when it becomes available.

I had my best round of the year! What kind of ball was it for future use?

I played the prototype test balls over the weekend and they are awesome!! I was getting an extra 5-10 yards on my drives and the feel around the greens is superb. Thanks TeamTitleist for the opportunity to be a part of the test panel. Such a great experience for all of the armature golfers who love your products! I can't wait for the new line of Pro V's to be available for purchase.

I track my club lengths and found these balls to be 5-8 yards longer. There was improved control with my iron shots to and on the greens. I thought they were better than my current Pro V1 and Pro V1x balls that I use.

I believe they were Pro V1x based on the red numbers so I can't wait for them to be available next year.

The test balls were great. They have great distance and superior spin even to the Pro V1 balls I normally play.

Like all of the others have said, I appreciate the opportunity to try the new Titleist golf balls. The ball was outstanding, please tell us which model this ball will be sold as in 2017. The ball flew higher, slightly longer, with the driver, than the NXT Tour from 2016, stopped better and most of all tracked straighter than any ball I have used over the last years. Too bad I lost one-(1) of the three-(3) today, but still have two-(2) for the rest of our season. Send MORE to all of us next year.

Just finished both reviews. Loved being a part of this demo program.

Have to say the red/Pro V1x felt great. I found it to be very soft in feel. Considerably more than other premium urethane distance balls, srxn xv, b330,tour preferred X, ect.

I've always played the pro v1x but switched to the pro V1 mid season and with great success, it seems this ax current pro V1 really had the distance AND great short game spin and that shortened the gap between it and pro V1x. I also got great distance the current pro v1. Still got 3 pro v1x protons and 2 pro V1 protist and looking forward to more testing.

Thanks Titleist for including me in the testing. It's much appreciated to know that you care what us amateurs think of your products.

Hope to be able to do it again.

  14. Ball was great for me from 150 and in. Felt a little to soft for me off the tee. May be due to my swing speed. I usually play the prov1x or balls simular like the Maxfli u/6 silver pack. Gave really good putter feel as well as wedge feel.can't wait to go and test them some more! Haven't been the best conditions in northwest ohio

I'm surprised to read everyone'a comments about the prototype all being softer and "sticky" on the greens. I had the opposite experience. My test balls were firm and had a tendency to fly from all lies. They skipped or skidded across the greens off wedges and performed nothing like my regular ProV1x. These performed more like an NXT or Velocity type ball to me. I liked the durability though. I played with the same ball for a long time (11 holes) until it started to show any wear.

Tested the Pro V1X, compared to the swoosh platinum. Overall, I preferred my old ball, which doesn't help since they won't be around much longer. The test ball spun too much, and I actually prefer the current model of the X over the test model (Tried a few a while back). Thanks to Team Titleist for the opportunity to participate.
  17. I really enjoyed being part of the test program. I recently received a sleeve of 3 balls. There was nothing that told me what type of prototype balls they were. They were colored like Pro V1's or NXT Tour S. I've been playing Pro V1x. The prototypes did seem to be firm, like the Pro V1x however, the ball flight seemed a little more penetrating like a Pro V1. That said, I'm not a Pro, so I'm not sure I wouldn't pass a blind test between the two balls, or if these were even Pro V1 prototypes. Probably because I'm getting older, I do tend to like the feel of a softer ball, but I like the characteristics of the Pro V1x. So, assuming these are Pro V1 prototypes, I would really like to compare the Pro V1x prototype to the Pro V1's I play today. Thanks for this opportunity! Chad
  18. I tested the protypes against the current pro v1x. I used a launch monitor first to compare the numbers before I went outside with them. The total distance and carry were pretty much the same between the two balls. How ever the ball speed and launch angle were higher than the current pro v1x. I felt the test balls were a little too soft for those people with higher swing speeds. As I worked up through my bag I was getting good ball speed but my launch angles were higher than my normal ones with the current pro v1x. When I took the ball outside, it reacted very well around the greens and with short irons, but the flight was much higher with the test ball than I'm used too. It's a very solid golf ball but with playing with it is a little too soft for my liking. I would recommend it for those golfers with slower swings speed. And for those golfers with higher swing speed it's a little too soft and you get higher launch angles and lose some distance.

Put my test ProV1x's in play last week and birdied the first hole. It was a pleasure to test them out with my new 917D2 Driver. Liked the distance gain with the driver and especially liked the feel on short approach shots. I play the ProV1x normally and will continue with these when they are released. Thank you Team Titleist for including me in this trial! I look forward to doing this again.
  20. Played a round w/ the test sleeve I received a few weeks ago. Feel was very similar to the ProV1x. Great off the tee and felt great putting.
