Garwood and Tangkomolprasert round out 4-win week for Titleist golf ball players


It was another winning weekend for Titleist Brand Ambassadors and golf ball loyalists as Pro V1 and Pro V1x players claimed four titles across the worldwide professional tours, led by Titleist golf ball loyalist Brendan Steele (Pro V1x), who secured a one-shot victory at the 2016-17 season-opening Safeway Open.

And on the LPGA TourTitleist golf ball loyalist Carlota Ciganda (Pro V1) captured her first career LPGA Tour title at the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship, edging fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist Alison Lee (Pro V1x) with a birdie on the first hole of their sudden death playoff.

Titleist golf ball loyalist Doug Garwood (Pro V1x) pulled away at the SAS Championship for his first PGA TOUR Champions title, closing with an 8-under-par 64 en route to a 16-under-par 200 victory total, four shots clear of runner-up and fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist Bernhard Langer (Pro V1).

Garwood, who trailed Langer by two shots entering the final round, birdied the last three holes on the front nine for a 6-under-par 30. He made it four in a row on the par-4 10th, and added birdies on the par-5 13th and 16th to secure the win.

The SAS Championship marked the regular season finale on the PGA TOUR Champions schedule and Garwood jumped to 19th on the money list.

The top 72 players on the PGA TOUR Champions money list earned spots in the Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs opener beginning October 28.

TITLEIST BY THE NUMBERS:

 Titleist was the top golf ball choice at the event with 56 players trusting a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball for their success, seven times the nearest competitor with eight.

The win was the 20th for Titleist players in the 23 PGA TOUR Champions events this year, 10 times the nearest competitor with two.

On the Asian Tour, Titleist golf ball loyalist Pavit Tangkomolprasert (Pro V1x) captured the Venetian Macau Open with a birdie on the first hole of a sudden death playoff. The win marks the first career Asian Tour title for the 27-year-old from Thailand.

Tangkomolprasert carded a spotless final round 7-under-par 64 en route to a 16-under-par 268 total.

Eight of the 11 players who finished among the top 10 and ties all relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.

TITLEIST BY THE NUMBERS:

 Titleist golf balls were also the top choice among all players in the field of 144 with 96 relying on a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball for their success, more than six times the nearest competitor with 15.
