The important part of fitting is deciding if you need 52/56/60 or 54/58 or 54/60 or just 52/56 to compliment the 48 degree PW AP2. For example, for me I had to add a 60 M because my local bunkers usually damp and my tendency is to short side myself if I land in a green side bunker. ;-)

I just recently moved the the 718 AP2 after playing a blade for over 20 years. My 714 MB lofts were 1* weaker than the new AP2's so I used to play a 52/56/60 for gapping, but now with the stronger AP2 I have moved to 50/54 bent to 55/58 bent to 59 to keep my correct gapping. Go see a fitter and figure out what your gapping is and try and keep with it.

Great question.

The first part of wedge selection is proper loft gapping. This will promote more full wedge shots and fewer partial shots. The PW loft on the 718 AP2 is 46 degrees. We recommend 4-6 degrees of loft separation. The primary set makeup with a 46 degree PW is a 50, 54 and 58-degree wedge set.

As for selecting the proper bounce and grind, hitting the different grinds with a local Titleist fitter is the best way to get the best performing wedges for your swing and course conditions. From what you have described, it sounds like you have a fairly neutral angle of attack. We would recommend trying the 54.10S or 54.14F and the 60.08M/60.10S.

One thing that wasn’t mentioned above is that you may not need 3 additional wedges for your setup. If you’re very comfortable hitting a knockdown with your pw, then a pw/53/59 type setup (like Stricker carries) may be more than sufficient and leave room in the bag for the long end, if needed. This can also help with club selection on the course.
