  1. So with all this terrible rain and wind most courses have been shut or simply not playable even if open!

So my winter balls ( tru soft ) have not really gone down.

I usually treat my self to pro v1 in the summer however as I’ve got so many tru soft left due to lack of winter play I think il, use these up, to be fair they are a decent ball for the money ?

Do you swap balls winter v summer?

After a Titleist Thursday fitting I planned to use Velocity over the winter due to the higher flight but like yourself have not used them, I suppose they will do next Winter.

Nope...same ball all year although I might use some of the older balls during the winter, especially if there's water on the hole...

    Grindelwald,

I always stick to the Pro V1, also in wither
Simply adjusting the distance by hitting other clubs

Same ball all year round, switched to yellow Pro V1X from white.
So much more durable than the white and don’t mark as easy.

I always played Pro V1 all year but I have changed this winter to yellow AVX.

I have not noticed any major changes but the putting, as our greens are very slow.

Pro V1 x all year round, but have been playing the yellow version this winter as an experiment. It is much more visible than the white ball in the dimmer light conditions.

    AVX in winter.
    Pro V1 in summer.

Great discussion topic here guys, if you're able to play a consistent ball year round then that's ideal because you get some consistency in terms of how the ball reacts on little delicate chip and pitch shots around the green. To that end, it's also worth keeping a spare few back as your short game practice balls if you can rather than practicing chipping with range balls or practice balls. You can then get some consistency in terms of how the ball will react on greens from practice time to game time!

One suggestion I have had some success with players is if they normally use a prov1 or Prov1x but if it is an absolutely howling day as it is sometimes here in the UK, it might be worth gaming the new AVX which is a lower spinning ball on full shots but similar characteristics around the green. Its worked for a few students, see your local pro for a few seeding balls to give it a try!

    Cheers all.

I experimented a bit with the trufeel after decent results from a Titleist ball fitting day.

Same really looking at a cheaper alternative for the winter but compared to the ProV1 but it is just not the same.

    Grindelwald,

Titleist just recently release a german article, that you should not change your ball during winter, as it will change your whole game and shot!

I use the same ball the year round, I pick up my stock of ProV1s when Titleist offer the 4 for 3 deal around about this time of year, apart from the consistency there's not that much of a price difference, last year I had a 10% cashback offer with Santander on purchases with American Golf so I bought the 4 for 3 there, worked out £27 a dozen!!
