Has your golf survived the weather this week?

This week has been a busy one for me with society annual away weekend at East Sussex National and a club match yesterday.

It started well on Sunday on ESN West Course when the weather was overcast and muggy but Monday started wet and just got wetter with the marshalls closing both courses so we only managed 6 holes on the East.

We managed to change Tuesdays round from West to East and you wouldn't have guessed that it had raised so heavily for so long the day before (apart from water in the bunkers) as there was no standing water and ground was firm underfoot.

Yesterday I played at High Post in Wiltshire, a gem of a course that I can recommend will challenge your game but is still very enjoyable. Again it had rained heavily on Wednesday evening and was raining hard when I left home. It rained throughout the round but there was no sign of water on the course and the greens ran true and quick.

Taking a couple of days rest and to dry out before Seniors championship 1st round on Monday...

Have a great and dry weekend and post some good scores.

    Hi Ant,

Weather down in Somerset this past weekend was not great. Went out Saturday afternoon & had to make full use of my Footjoy waterproof kit (Bone dry), & waterproof bag. However, Sunday managed to get in a full 18, with just strong wind to contest with. Nice seeing my 52 Degree SM7 flying 135 wit the help of the wind.

Hopefully the weather improves your end as well.

I played this “weekend” in completely different parts of the country. Matlock in Sunday was very wet with puddles on the green making putting very difficult. Intermittent cold rain and warm sunshine also meant taking water proofs on and off repeatedly and distracted from the game.

Hunstanton has probably had as much rain but being a links course it has coped with it much better. Some puddles were evident but these were away from the action - the main issue was the strong wind which made club selection tricky and really affected putt direction/strength.
  4. I played the Emerald course at Hill Valley off the yellow tee's and posted 44 front and 46 back.

Quite a few short putts missed which I was obviously disappointed with. Also a sliced drive on the 16th so 3 off the tee that was really costly.

Really enjoyed my round and the weather was amazing!

No play due to really heavy rain, hope to get to the range tomorrow or Thursday.
