Winter Golf Distances

    Just wondered if there's any stats anywhere to back up the distance you lose when it's colder, I usually allow about a 10% loss of distance, not particularly scientific more guess work?

    I'm not sure how scientific that would be as things like ball temperature, humidity and altitude might affect the overall stats.

    I usually club up for the first few shots of a round just to see what happens and then take it from there.

    This morning it was 1 degree when I started the round and 9 degrees at the end. Similarly two Sundays ago we started in fog and finished in clear blue skies so the air density affected distance. On both occasions there was a period where clubbing correctly was a challenge.

    I'm sure Titleist have thought of this and included this in ball design so maybe it's our performance which is most affected by temperature.
