A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of receiving 3 x Titleist ProV1 balls in the post.
On first inspection there wasn't much to distinguish any changes from the current 2014 model, that was until I took it out on the course.
I am already a long hitter with the driver but these new balls are in a totally new league to anything that has come before it. I was hitting straighter and on average 15 yards longer than with my current ProV1 balls.
My playing partners were not aware of my prototype ball and after only one hit with a carry of just over 300 yards in very wet conditions underfoot the comments soon came flooding in about what i had eaten for breakfast!
The ball remains a world apart from the other brands when it comes to the softness, control and feel with the irons and this ball builds on the previous model. The major advance that I noticed on the 2014 model was how long it took me to scuff the ball, especially out of the bunkers. With previous incarnations I couldn't normally get more than one round from the ProV1 but from the 2014 model and now the new model the outer casing has been improved to the point that I'm losing a ball before it gets scuffed.
The other thing that I noticed was that the whiteness appears brighter? I don't know if Titleist have been working on this but in the dull conditions I was playing it it certainly appears brighter than the outgoing model. The only thing that I want for Christmas to go with the new 915D2 is a big box of these, they really are that good.
Thank you for the opportunity of playing with these ahead of the official launch.
These are without a doubt 10/10 in all areas of the game.
