Hi Folks!
This is my first review so sorry if it's not up to the usual standard.
I received my Precision Weight Kit today after weeks of wondering what difference it would make to the performance of my driver and 3 wood. First off, the only negative I can say her is that the kit comes with the same 7g weight that we already have fitted in the head of our club when we buy it so it would have been even better if there was another weight say 15g in there.
Now for the good stuff. I have only seen one review of this kit from anyone (Ryan Crysler on youtube) but having watched his clip thought it was worth exploring.
I started with my driver (910 D2, Tour AD YSQ 65S) using the lightest weight, the 2g to see what effect it had and my opinion was that increased my swing speed and overall feel for the face of the club. After hitting that 10 times, I noticed I lost yardage and my direction was off so I steadily made my way through the set. For me, I really found a difference with the heaviest weight, the 12g and my driver came alive in my hands!! Gone were the "pray I hit it straight" thoughts and doubts and I can now safely say that I hit it longer than anything I've ever hit (G2, Titleist 905R and both the R9 and R11). I also started to fiddle around with fading and drawing which worked out ok considering I play the apparently less shapable 910D2 to the D3. The only thing I did change was to go from A1 to D1 to hit it lower but the results were so different that I seriously cannot rate the weight kit highly enough.
I also tried the weights in my new fairway (15 degree 910F Kai'Li S) but I already found this great and the amount of rubber-like glue in the head made it difficult and messy to remove the 7g weight. That said, I'm as happy as Larry with that club anyway having only played one competitive round with it and hitting it straighter and longer than the drives from the rest of my 4 ball playing partners that usually destroy me. I tried changing the weight on this club but decided to leave it as is as it felt just right from the beginning.
All in all, I would say get the Precision Weight Kit if you play the 910's. It has transformed my driver into something that I will (hopefully) be blasting past my white driver headed friends for a good few seasons.
I know it's a feel thing and everyone is different but this is the strength of the 910's and I am absolutely chuffed to bits!
I'd be interested to hear anyone else's experience with it.
Thanks Titleist!
