    Hello TT LOVERS !

I just wanted to reach out to try help Golfers travelling to the UK This summer, and thinking of going to Scotland by train.

My name is Simon Worsfold and I’m a lover of Golf & Titleist but also I work for a train operator by the name of LNER ( LONDON NORTH EASTEN RAILWAY ).

I work out of Kings Cross Station in London and we operate a train service from London to Inverness stopping at Locations such as Edinburgh, Gleneagles & Luncher ( near to St Andrews ).

We at LNER have services to Edinburgh every 30 mins from London up until 19.00pm every day and selected services to Gleneagles and Luncher every 2 hours.

Why am I reaching out to you may you ask?

Over the past few month another train operator called LUMO are running services to Edinburgh only but there is no a catch, they will NOT ALLOW GOLF CLUBS ON THERE TRAINS.

There use to be a charge of £30 to take them onboard but with the amount of people coming over to play iconic courses they decided to stop all Golf clubs on board.

Not many golfers get told when they’re buying train tickets so I wanted to reach out with some help to you all.

So.. here is a little list to help you plan.

    1. ONLY BUY TRAIN TICKETS FROM THE OPERATOR are travelling with. LNER has its very own website and also an app which is really easy to managed.

    2. LNER has 2 large luggage areas on board perfect for flight bags and large cases.

    3. Whenever you book First class or Standard tickets we have room for you, there is also luggage storage in each coach.

    4. By buying tickets direct from LNER it’s going to make your life stress free regarding any issues you may have coming to the station such as missed trains cancelled trains and late arrives to the Airport.

    5. 3rd party ticket operators will not inform you of any information regarding the above. Lner will send you texts & emails direct to you if there is any issues on our route.

    6. If you do buy tickets on LUMO TRAINS you will need to submit a refund and then purchase new tickets on the day which maybe eating into your spending money etc.

    7. LNER has specialist staff in the station that can get you early boarding so there is no fuss when you arrive at the train and wonder were to placed clubs and luggage so it’s a stress free experience for you.

    8. Each destination on our route stops for a round 5 mins to allow you to get your flight bags off in time also.

    9. If travelling first class you will receive a a hot meal snacks beers tea and coffee and soft drinks on route included in your price of a ticket , in standard there is food cart in coach G were you can buy food and drink from with a credit or debt card.

    10. All our trains come with free WiFi and plug sockets in every seat.

I hope all this information helps you with further planning and if you need any help please feel free to reach out and I’ll try my upmost to help you plan your golf trip by train.

    Kind regards

    Simon Worsfold
