My teaching Pro gave me a D Grind 60° to try. I used it 4 times during my round. Three sand shots and one against the grain. I love it! It's now in my bag.

Love this one. This the grind I use here in SE Texas. Turf varies from rock hard to soft and spongy, depending on the weather and watering/time of day I play. I find it provides me the variety of shots I need, as well as the versatility for the shots displayed in this short video. I carry this on my SM 10 54/12D and 60/12D (bent to 59). Use a 48/10F (bent to 49) when the turf is really hard, even in the bunkers. Keep the excellent videos coming on the various grinds.

Just got my SM10 56 12D and I love it. Happened to shoot my lowest round ever my second time out with it, 2 over 74. Coincidence? I think not!

Can you explain the benefits of D versus S.

Tough part is you still have to understand how to hit the shot no matter the grind you are using. I use an S grind on my 56* 10 bounce and M Grind on my 60* 8 bounce.

How does the D grind relate to these two grinds. I also know the bounce is very important for what type of surface you are playing on as well. Do we know the bounce of the club used in the video?

Love watching your "hit three with each grind" series and I think Aaron Dill is an educated master of the wedge game, and
it makes me envious of the conditions your series play in. There a so few ranges with grass or practice bunkers to try the grinds and lofts. Hitting indoors or outside off mat covered cement makes the grind selections and fittings difficult at best. My goal now is to play with three of the most versatile grinds I believe will fit my game. A 48 10 F, 52 12 F and a 58 06 T.
Bunkers do not have fluffy sand and tight lies a have minimal grass. I have other SM wedges of various lofts and grinds (L, M, S,) but these three will work the best for the courses I play in the NY/NJ/PA area.
