A fun exercise that some buddies and I started talking about last weekend is “How many courses have you played?” That got me started thinking about how many places I have played this magical game that we all love (sometimes love to hate).

My totals will pale in comparison to most of you but here goes:

    Foreign Countries - 0 US States - 19 # of courses - 108

Rookie numbers….I need to pump them up!!!!

My list has 166 courses on it. I started keeping them written down a couple of years ago. While not a large number, most of my rounds were repeats on my home courses. I do have some of the best public access courses on the list, both in the USA and UK/Ireland.

Hey Sean, I wouldn't call those rookie numbers; I'd call you a seasoned veteran

Oh, also a way to get that “blank” off the foreign course list is to watch for another Team Titleist International like we had in 2023. We might see one pop up in 2025.

I think I've only played 48 different courses. Bad part is 6 on the list don't exist anymore and that sort of makes me sad. Housing developments and mismanagement taking some good ones away from us. I do hope to add some new ones to my played list this fall.

Do not know where to start, other than can name the states and countries where I have played. Started playing in 1985. I use to play in local invitational tournaments for many years, CGA one day events, interclub monthly events and courses when we travelled as well as at my professional organizations golf events once a year all over the US. That is 39 years worth. If I multiplied that by five times a year that would be close, most likely a lot more. Use to play 6 tournaments a year and I play golf three days a week at the local municipal course.

    California
    Arizona
    Mississippi
    Tennessee
    Kentucky
    Massachusetts
    Rhode Island
    Connecticut
    N Carolina
    S Carolina
    Georgia
    Florida
    Nova Scotia
    Montreal
    Ireland

I will go the same route as Chuck and list the states I have played in as there are too many courses to count in California that I have played to begin to start counting. I can tell you in that list of California courses, names like Pebble, Spyglass, Poppy, Spanish Bay, Pasatiempo, Torrey (North and South) do show up.

I have played in the following states

    California
    Nevada
    Arizona
    New Mexico
    Texas
    Alabama
    Florida
    Georgia
    South Carolina
    North Carolina
    New Jersey
    New York
    Utah

    Countries are Mexico, Ireland, Scotland

    What a great question. I'll have to think about it and report back. That said,Chuck has a good idea about the states, and beyond.Here we go;

    Maine
    Massachusetts
    New Hampshire
    Vermont
    New York
    North Carolina
    South Carolina
    Florida

    Bermuda
    Cayman Islands

This is a little fun. I’ve played in 13 states and countless courses. I would assume well over 100, but that would take a lot of thinking to get them all.

In keeping with the state/country breakdown for my 166 courses, they are:

    Arizona
    Arkansas
    California
    Florida
    Georgia
    Hawaii
    Michigan
    North Carolina
    Oregon
    South Carolina
    Texas
    Wisconsin
    USVI
    Dominican Republic
    Ireland/Northern Ireland
    Mexico
    Nova Scotia
    Scotland

Fortunate to have played 8 of the Top 10 US Public (Golfweek) and 3 of the Top 5 World (Golf Digest). Adding a few more to the list between now and the end of the year.

Anyone over 100 is NOT! a rookie

Been playing since 1960, too many courses NLE for me to be sure. My path is very weird. I do not know the exact number but it's closer to 1400 than 1300, I've played up to 80 different courses in a year. I have played 54 courses in Scotland and 12 in France (one in the photo).

I play to vote Top 100 in my state on a specific panel. I play In the USA and Worldwide for a magazine with lists panel as well. I have always been more interested in the design of courses than being the best player that I could possibly be. Rating I don't really keep a score but look at the course very carefully. I rate-play alone a lot, playing a four-ball is honestly a mental chore, too much to block out. I don't play for social reasons never been one to have a "Saturday Foursome" as I like to play my own ball, not BB partners, etc.

But ... I have played sanctioned stroke play events best finish in a Regional group 3rd and State 5th, only Club Championships won are 5 with the lady in my photo, we are killer in alt-shot (Foursomes).

Sorry, the writer in me rambles at the keyboard, I hope that was moderately interesting, blessed by this game!
