  1. Has anyone changed the weights in their Scotty?

I have the 5.5, have added a reverse taper grip and shortened it by an 1” should I weight up a bit?

  2. Sure, all the time! They alittle of glue in them that when you take them out the first time you need to break the seal so it may be easy or alittle hard...ensure you have the correct tool from Scotty Cameron.

    Cheers!!

I changed mine out a few times until I found the right "feel". Use the tool Scotty sells and it makes it all the much easier.
  4. Perfect thank you, gone for some 5g heavier ones to have a try.

5gr is the lightest weight and usually for longer putters like 35.5" and 36"

    IMHO

I played my Monterey blade for years trying to get things right with new grips. Nothing felt right until changing out the weights. It came stock with 10g in the heel and 10g in the toe. I went up to 25g in heel and toe. Figured going heavy first would be best as I was liking the heavier mallet style putters. After adding the heavier weights my putts have been more on my intended line and consistent. With that change I've gone from a 2.6 putt average to 1.8 per hole.

I have changed the weights on my Scotty Phantom 7.5. Currently using a 20g. The weight set I got from Scotty has been worth the money.

Just play around with some lead tape too rather than spend loads on scotty weights and the weight remover tool. looks cool plus costs probably a tenth of the price and you can do pretty much what you want and where you want with it
  10. This works better than what people think.
