Given the release of the LTD Triple Black Long Neck Newport 2, anyone think there would be a chance of a Long Neck Newport 2 to join the standard line?

I think it would be a great option for those with a SBST putting stroke who would also like a Newport 2 or a more near face balanced blade style putter.

  2. I was lucky enough to score a TRIPLE BLACK Newport 2 Long Neck. Can't wait to get it, pretty sure it will be my new gamer. If Scotty's history is the best predictor of future releases, there are certain putter forms that will always be limited runs. Center shaft putters(non mallet), Long Necks, bullet-bottom sole and certain finishes, I think, will always be Limited run or Wednesday Circle T one offs. I look for those options or models, that are in less than ideal condition, online and at local Play It Again sports equipment stores, to get them as cheap as I can. Then depending on how bad they are I refinish them myself or send them back to the custom shop for refinishing and customization. As you can tell I have a Scotty addiction, I currently have 7 Scotty's with the oldest being a 1996 Classic SanTa Fe I got new in 1996. If you haven't used the custom shop yet, I highly recommend it. There are lots and lots of customizable options and when you get the big yellow box delivered, it is the closest thing to Santa visiting on christmas morning as you can get as an adult! LOL. Good Luck

I don't personally have a SBST putting stroke, but I had 2 friends png me this weekend about the same topic. I'd like to see Scotty bring a long neck Newport 2 to the standard line, even for just a year or two to service those looking for a blade with a more face balanced setup.

I like the thought of a limited run of a "year or two", just a window where there is an opportunity to buy a potential gamer would be great. I would like to be able to get a classic looking Newport that fits my putting stroke, customize it, and try it in the bag; that would be awesome.

I doubt it, this was supposed to be a "limited" release. Maybe more Long Neck LTDs in the future, but not an OTR model.
  6. “You never know” is how Scotty would respond! I have asked him numerous times about things and many times says that. I love long necks!

I would love to see this hit the regular line as well. I'd be all for it. Fingers crossed!
