Aftermarket Weights

    Hey all, brought a second hand Scotty Golo 5R. I can tell it is original (own 2 other scotty's) but the previous owner has had it cut down to a 34 inch from a 35 inch, im cool with this as wanted 34".

    I believe he has then put 2 x 15 gm aftermarket weights in to balance it out as is on the Scotty Cameron site. My issue is these weights don't sit flush.

    How can I fix this? Taking into account I can't afford to buy a weight kit for AU$200+ from Scotty Cameron website. What do you think best option is,

    *Try some different aftermarket weights? *Visit my golf course pro and see what he can do? *We have a Titleist demo day in a month coming up at my golf club, would they help me there?

    I'm a bit of a perfectionist and really want to get it fixed, any help would be much appreciated.

    It is probably relating to the glue used in the port for the weight needs to be cleaned out...that is the usual issue if weights do not sit flush. Also check for glue in the threads of the weight...

    I had the same problem in past with a Newport 2 that the weights (aftermarket) were not flush. To solve it I bought aftermarket weights from a different supplier and it is perfectly flush now.
    I think the problem is more the treads of the aftermarkets weights than the
    glue.
    Original weights from Scotty Cameron are expensive but they are the exact or close the exact weights that are stamped on it.
    Aftermarket weights have some different. They could be 12 gr on a supposed 15 gr and the second one could be 17 gr.
    To correct this, you must sand the extra weights on the heavier one to have both at the same weights.

    Also look to see if the O-Rings are smashed in the threads.
    You can get standard O-Rings at your hardware store to replace them if they look a bit worn...just make sure the sizing is accurate.

    Hi there, take a look at the Cameron Collector website, that's a good source of genuine Scotty putters and components and in most cases the prices sellers charge on that forum are very reasonable.
    I've picked up grips, headcovers and weights etc. from sellers on there over the years.
