Removing Counter Balance

    Hi. I recently started gaming a futura x5 counter balance. Not 100% sure about the added weight in the grip. Has anyone removed it and cut down the shaft ?. Will this effect the balance of the putter ?

    I have removed the weight, which some tour pros have done as well, however cutting it down slightly to fit your game is fine but not to a regular length. The sole weight is too heavy and your putter will have a crazy high swingweight that I would not recommend. IMHO

    Any idea what the shortest length you would get away with ?

    I would not go under 36" if you were to cut it down...that would be for someone playing a 33" standard putter. As you know, you should have the Dual Balance putter at least three inches longer than your current putter at regular length.
