  1. So I currently own a great Studio Stainless Newport 2 that I rarely use anymore. A buddy of mine owns a Studio Select Newport 2 and was wondering if there was any way we'd be willing to switch putters and give them a try.

My question to you all is whether or not there's really much difference in the two models? Is it worth a shot trying out the new putter or do they perform pretty much the same? Are there any spec differences between the two? Really just looking for a little insight.

    Thanks y'all!

Both putters are made out of 303 stainless steel, with the Studio Select you can change the weights to make the putter heavier or lighter to your liking. It wouldn't hurt to try it as you may like it.

Putting is all about personal preference / feel !!! I know some members of my GC that have putters that are 15+ years old and they putt lights out with them and would never consider changing. Then again, I know a few that upgrade to the latest putter as soon as they are released (as a status thing I guess - lol)
  4. It is always worth trying out new putters however I own both and prefer the studio stainless...in fact I saw in a recent Scotty photo that one tour pro still uses his studio stainless in competition!

I prefer the studio stainless. I like the tri sole on it. Both are good putters.

Scotty's with interchangeable weights are less desirable in my opinion. THe solid Studio Stainless also has the iconic tri-sole

What will it hurt to try it? I say go for it you never know you might like it better.
