It was January 10, 2025 at the Hualalai Golf Course - a Friday afternoon round with my buddies. The course was going to close the next day to prepare for the Mitsubishi Electric Seniors Tournament, so it was pretty close to tournament conditions. It's the 12th hole, and I'm the second to hit. GPS said 119 which is a pitching wedge for me. When the ball (Titleist 2 ProV1x) left the club face, it did not feel special; just felt like a pretty good shot. When the ball was in the air, my buddy said something to the effect of, "that has a chance". We watched the ball land about 10 feet below the hole, check up a little, release, break toward the pin, and disappear into the hole. Then my soul left my body. I tossed my club and started running around the tee box until my friends grabbed me to congratulate me. First one after having played this game for 27 years. Greatest feeling ever.
