I wasn’t having the best round in a college event in some tough conditions. I was +6 par, just coming off a bogey at the par 4, 15th hole. The next hole on the Grouse-Guadiana course at Castro Marim is a short par 3 playing 15 yards downhill. My playing partner who I am good friends with had just put his shot to around three feet, and we all applauded him! I grabbed my Titleist T150 nine iron and choked down on it to control the spin as it was into wind. The nine iron was flushed, tracking nothing put the pin and I said to my playing partner that it could be closer than his if it’s the number! Two feet past the pin and it spun back into the hole, my playing partner runs after the hole and I drop to my knees in disbelief! I went on to finish birdie, bogey to finish the around +4 par, coming in fourth place! Great memory and one that will last forever!
