  1. Hey team.

    I have a set of AP3s which I love. 4i to 48* GW

Recently got myself some vokey 54 and 58 wedges. Went from 52 and 56. I changed bounce and grind and prefer the newbies.

Anyway, just wanting to see preference if anyone has any stories and would recommend to keep my AP3 GW or move to a vokey. Have a love hate relationship with the 48. Currently going through a great spell after a long dry spell with it. Look at address doesn’t worry me. I will use it on full swings, and around the green. 15 h/c currently.

    My set up is… TSi2 driver U505 2 iron U510 3 iron AP3 4 iron to 48* gap 54 and 58 vokey SC phantom 12

That the AP3 48 will be longer than a 48 or 50 Vokey is only an issue if you can’t adjust for the gap.

I have used a 48 Vokey for several years but have added the 48 (T200) and been carrying a 50 Vokey to compare. I do now prefer the set gap for full shots over a wedge. My base set is 12 clubs, so I add/remove clubs based on course conditions. The 50 is the more expendable now.
  3. You said you use the AP3 GW for full swings. This is a strong indicator to stay with it. It’s closer to the irons and it seems you use it mostly like an iron.
Is there a shot you can’t do with your current GW because of the sole size, sole grind? If so, how often per round would you need that kind of shot?

I would recommend staying with the AP3. I had a similar question earlier in the year. I have T300 6-GW(48), and Vokey 54 and 58. My problem was I had a gap between the 48 and 54 so what I did is get a Vokey 50 and had it bent to 51. But to answer your question better, if you are mainly using yours for full shots and it's working, stick with it.
  5. Sweet. Thanks for the advice. Looks like I’ll keep it in the bag.

I’ve used a 48 Vokey in the past and prefer the 916 CB PW which is 47 degrees. I think wedges are like putters, it’s really up to the player preference.

Not quite the same, but I have T200 through 48 degree gap, and 54/56 degree SM10, and I like it that way. Just feel more comfortable with that setup.

I would go Vokey for the smaller profile. I have a set of Concept CP-04s and a set of Concept CP-03s. I split them at the PW and 48 for that reason.
