Long time reader, first time poster.  I recently took first place in my flight in a tournament and won a gift card to Golfsmith.  I was looking for something to use it on and came across a Titleist mid-size staff bag.  I've always wanted one and getting it at a "discount" sounded great to me, the only question was whether or not I should get my name stitched in it.  My wife thought it may look too prideful or arogant.  What do the team members think?  When you see  someone with their name on their bag what is your first impression?  Thanks!

Depends on their status as a golfer. Pros (including club pros and PGA certified instructors), or amateurs who compete at the national level - OK. Amateurs competing at the club level - maybe not so much.

Honestly though, it's one of those "judging a book by its cover" sort of things isn't it? If you want to have your name stitched in it - go for it and don't worry about what anyone else thinks.

Richard - I agree with you.  Who the heck cares if you want your name on your bag!  At least you won't get it mixed up with any other golf bags!

I have my name stitched on the side panel, it was my wife's idea and also a gift from her.  I think it's great to have it done as it shows a true commitment to the game.  I don't think it shows any arrogance or anything like it, it simply shows pride in your game and equipment.  I believe you will like it if you choose to have it done.

It has made it easier for someone to not pick up my bag with my name on it! I LOVE displaying my Titleist brand pride!

Thank you for all the feedback.  I love being a part of Team Titleist and I am proud of the equipment that I use so I did purchase the mid-size Titleist staff cart bag, I couldn't resist.  I also had my name scripted on it.  I've always wanted something like.  I did not want to make my decision based on what others think , but I do not want to bring any unwanted attention o myself either.

    Hi there,

When you ordered your bag, were you allowed to add anything else to your bag besides your name? I'm just curious.

I was thinking of getting a new bag, either a cart bag, or maybe even a staff bag (since I never walk) and like to have more room for stuff. But I wanted to have my name added, but maybe even my college (just like the pros have been showing lately), but maybe also a flag on there also.  Is this something that we can add when we put in this custom order?

So again, does anyone know if we are allowed to add in a college (or sports team) or a flag to our bag in addition to our name?

    Thanks,

    Sam

I got my name on it with the TT logo.  Not to be arrogant or boast, just to show a little pride, AND like some others have said before me, it make keep it from "growing legs" and walking off with someone else who wants to make it theirs.  Makes it different from anyone else's and like already said "who cares............"    Get what you like.

What is the best way to go about to get a bag personalized? An embroidery shop

  11. David O, I purchased a light weight staff bag Wednesday at the club I'm a member at. I mentioned that I would like to have my name and the clubs logo put on it. The owner said I could have that done locally at Pro Prints where he gets his flags done. They had the logo in house and said it would be no problem. The only problem there will be a two week turn around. The price was right but the wait is killing me!! Good luck. steve b

I have always liked the look and would certainly get it done on my next Titleist bag.

That bag looks really good! How did you go about embroidering it?

Depends why you want it on there...I played a lot in Africa and the Far East, where pilfering was prevalent if not commonplace, Even to the extent of bags disappearing from the starter hut or caddies area, so embroidering or silkscreening your name on the bag acted as a deterrent to a degree for light fingered entrepeneurs.

Even here in the UK, I recently I noticed at least 8 popular Titleist staff bags on white Motocaddy carts lined up outside the clubhouse, at an Open comp, making it easy to confuse whose was who's and inadvertently take the wrong down the first before realising.

I would normally be with your wife on this.  I've always considered it to be a bit pretentious.   But seems to me if you've won anything of importance, you've earned the right to put your name on your bag.

One advantage, you know which bag is yours and you probably don't have to worry about anyone walking off with it.

Go with what will make YOU happy.

Ordered the 14 way cart bag last week from my club pro.  Having the Team Titleist logo embroidered on it.  Should be in in 3 - 4 weeks from custom shop.  Can't wait!!!
