Looking for some advice on correct grip size. Due to an old sports injury, my left hand (lead hand) is smaller than my right hand (trail hand).

LH: 7.5 from the crease of my wrist to my middle finger. RH: 7.75 from the crease of my wrist to my middle finger.

When I hold the club in my left hand, my middle two fingers touch the inside of my hand around the club, but gently and not digging into it.

Should I bring the gap, by keeping it standard but adding two extra strips of tape? I believe 4 extra strips of tape would bring it to a midsize. Or should I just keep standard with the one tape only?

Another option would be to add tape to the larger hand position only. Tape does not need to be equally applied.

To know whether any modification would benefit you though, I really think you would need to try and get some trackman data for different configurations. That plus the "feel" will help you decide. As my local golf Pro says, golf is 75% a mental game - the other 25% is just all in your head!

I may just solve this by putting MCC Plus4 ALIGN grips on as the lower trail hand has a larger feel.

Golf pride also has a ZGrip Plus 2 that you can try rather easily as well. That may give you an idea on the feel difference between 2 wraps on the lower hand and 4 wraps on the lower hand. JAT

I rock the mid size grip on all clubs and I will tell you its one of the best decisions I ever made. Grips are relatively cheap if you're buying one at a time. Buy one or 2 and throw them on a club an see what you like!!

If your middle left hand fingers are only touching your hand gently 4 additional wraps will be too much I believe- 2 should be plenty and if you are happy with the size under your lower hand yor can do the additional 2 (or 1?) wraps under the upper hand only.

I should mention when we are talking wraps (buildup tape) the regular buildup tape adds 0.01" so 2 wraps = 0.02". There is also buildup tape that adds 0.015" per wrap- GolfWorks carries both. My clubbuilder finds that most regular grips for men are too small and believes that in addition to the required strip of grip tape a strip of the the larger buildup tape is preferred.
