  1. Has anybody changed their grip size? Standard to medium? Results?

Maybe completely overthought, but since you asked.... for the last year, changed to midsize in driver, 3wood, 5wood and 4hybrid. Feel like it allows me to keep a light grip - reducing tension in my arms = better distance and accuracy. TSR's have helped too.
Then noticed I was "pulling" my wedges and changed to midsize there too. Actually think I was squeezing my left hand and closing the face with the smaller grips. Now more consistently at the target.

Best thing I did, watched YouTube videos and bought some equipment to change my own grips. Reduced the cost and anxiety of trying different sizes. Also played with STD +2 layers of tape - for something in between - and GolfPride +4 grips. Staying with midsize through the bag.

Good luck and enjoy the journey!

I changed to a midsize mcc plus 4 on my TSR2 due to arthritis and a busy bottom hand. I seen my accuracy tighten up but I lost a significant amount of distance. On the positive my results are very consistent.

  5. Just had a fitting yesterday for new clubs (which I ordered), and while a standard grip size was what my hand size called for, the fitter recommended I go to midsize to try and reduce some excess grip pressure I was applying. Anxious to see the results when the new clubs arrive.
  6. I have battled this for years.... I switched from standard....to standard plus 4 (bottom hand)....to midsize plus 4....... I was originally liking the lighter grip pressure as I was trying to avoid going left. That said, it changed the swing weight way too much to where I could not feel the head of the club. So....I have switched back to standard plus 4 with one extra wrap on the upper hand.... We'll see.....

Long fingers so I use midsize. Tried more wraps and parallel grips; didn’t work. Went to Winn midsize, no extra wraps, with left arm controlling everything. Works great.

Changed to Lamkin Crossline midsize, perfect for the slightly larger hand

I was just fitted for the T350 and went an extra 1/2" and from standard to mid-size grips. The reason for the change is so I can grip down on the club to gain more control of my iron shots.

I'm kind of all over the place.I have mid size grips on my driver 3 wood, 4 wood and hybrid. I get handsy sometimes and tend to hook it. The mid-size grip helps with that.My irons are standard (i'm thinking of changing those soon), and my wedges are the MCC+4.Not sure why I opted for those at the time, but they just felt great.

I went to oversize probably 11 years ago. Standard Lamkin grip weights are 52g. Oversize can be as high as 67g. That’s a 3 swingweight points. Winn Excel RF are 43g for oversize. I also play my clubs 2* upright and 1/2” short so the Excel RF keep the swingweight at D2. I had a Burner driver until 2017 and had to use a Dri Tac Lite to keep the swingweight at D2 with a 44.5” shaft.
  12. Switched to mid sized to help with arthritis, but didn’t like the feel, so switched back to standard.

I went to standard to midsize and I was tearing my glove. I went back to golfpride mcc plus 4 and I am happy with this grip.

I changed to GP midsized +4 5 years ago and never went back. Such a better feel of the club.
  15. I just ordered some new clubs after a long hiatus and switched from standard to midsize on my driver and irons.

I’m tall with relatively large hands and a larger grip just feels more natural.

I went to midsize nearly 10 years ago. Like the others have said, with standard grips my grip pressure was awful, used to get blisters a lot because I put the death grip on the club.

My hands and game are so much better for it now. I also used to get quite a bit of soreness throughout the neck and shoulders because I carried so much tension in the upper body. That is all gone now. That's not to say I don't get some occasional sore/stiffness, but I chalk that more up to aging and that I play golf far more now that I did 5-10 years ago.

I made the switch to medium Winn Dri-tac and can't go back. Even before I hit a new club, I buy a grip to replace before. I've tried and the feel is not there. It's all about feel. I know it might only be 1/16th or so but the difference is noticeable.

I went from standard to midsize and I've noticed a significant improvement in my ability to square the face. I'm also not over gripping to make up for the too small grip.
  19. I was In a midsize on everything until I ordered my new t100’s and went back to a full chord standard with 4 wraps of tape. So far I’m enjoying the firm feel with the bigger grip size.

I switched to midsize a while back and i can remember when i slid that first grip on to install I knew immediately that this was better for me. I think its all personal preference, but for me switching to a little bigger grip was a huge difference as far as comfort and feel. I encourage you to try it out, you could do one club or an old club and see what happens!
