  1. I'm currently playing fitted T300 fitted to me 2021 1" long and 2°upright. And since playing them Ive pretty much struggled in my iron play. I'm 6ft and pretty average arms length.

I'm coming from Standard off the shelf Adam's speedline, which I've never had problems hitting. But I figured going to a more difficult iron to hit there would be growing pains

I've struggled. So my solution was lessons where I've mentioned my less than confident iron fitting. He said well they must have done a wrist to floor measument. Which I had no idea what he was talking about, after research was never performed during my fitting.

My pro has had me choke down on my irons and change a few things. Grip ect. But I still cant just pick up my 7iron and hit a decent shot, lots of toe hits, blocked shots, a new to me slice and shanks.

I almost have to get into a groove to hit them. Range or during my lesson or back 9 while playing. So he suggested to to a local golf shop and experiment.

So I went to my local golf shop and said I'd like to hit the new T350 I'm a 1" long 2°upright. The guy looked at me like I had 4 eyes. I carry a 17hdp so he said youd probably right with the T300 but I'm gonna try something.

He gave me an T200 and I'm like I'm not good enough to hit these...so i proceeded to hit and absolute bliss, I'm like ya hes trying to sell clubs so they messed with the sim, so I let another gentleman hit and he said try them again after that guy. I went back in same, straight or slight fade, one or two miss hits but otherwise I was like I dont hit my T300s like this.

    He said T200 1/2" longer 1°upright. That's your club.

So I msged back the golf club to discuss my fitting from two years ago to see if they would reasses. They said, oh those guys dont work here anymore. They've moved on. And we can refit and adjust for our fee.

Sorry to be long winded but I've really been struggling and kinda not sure where to go from here???

Fitters are like people in any profession. There will always be good ones and not so good ones. Find one where you have talked to other customers and know they have a good reputation. Look at the data during the fitting. Don’t just rely on what they say, look at the TrackMan numbers. Use your gut on how they feel when you hit them. Do an outdoor fitting so you can see the ball flight and feel the turf interaction. Most importantly, play with clubs that give you confidence. If that’s not your existing T300’s, make the change.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I'm curious as to where you got fitted. I'm not a fitter but at 6'-0 a fitting of 1" over shafts with 2 degrees up is way out of the ordinary. Not to say it doesn't work for some, but it would be extremely rare. I have gone through a few fittings at golf shops, and a few with true Titleist fitters and can tell you the difference is night and day. My advice is the only time you should do an indoor fitting is if you plan on playing indoor golf. Too many times the simulator equipment can be out of sync, and the qualification for the fitter is based on if they know how to turn it on or off and which way to turn the wrench. Outdoors with a fitter registered with the club manufacturer, and preferably with good quality golf balls is the only serious option. It's not always easy to locate, but well worth the effort and time, and they usually have a more expansive selection of optional shafts, heads, length, etc. Once you've been through it, you'll never regret it.
As for the new line of clubs, I've heard many people say they were surprised to be fit with the T200 over the T350. I have not had a chance to swing the new clubs (in a bit of a slump right now - old injuries that I'm too impatient to take the time to let them heal up) but really looking forward to an updated fitting and new set. Still gaming the 718's but time to move on. I'm wondering with what I have heard lately if Titleist maybe compromised a bit with the new T200 and T350 to where the T200 leans a bit more into the game improvement line of the old T300. Can't wait to find out. Now that they charge for fittings, I'm giving a lot of thought to heading to Oceanside this time for the TPI workout. I bit pricy for my budget, but considered one of my golf dream vacations.
Good luck with the sticks, and keep swinging.

Just adding to what Dale said and your latest fitter, I’ve been playing std loft, lie, and length for 10 years. There may a swing change over the last couple of years that were minimal. In any event, the T350 didn’t improve on dispersion initially. The fitter went down a 1/4 inch in length and I immediately found the center of the face. Who knew?
Have always been an AP1/T300 player. The fitter snuck in a T200. Ended up with T200 7-P and T350 for a 6 iron. Have really enjoyed the consistency on direction, distance, and holding on green, albeit I can’t say I am longer.

For my last 2 sets of irons I was fit at a PGA Tour superstore (with a fitter my golf teacher recommended) and then a Titleist fitter outdoors at a local golf course. Both fitters were good and I definitely liked the outdoor fitting more. Seeing the ball flight and the numbers is better IMO. I am getting fit for a utility iron this week with a Titleist fitter at my club in Pinehurst at aTitleist fitting event. Will be hard for me to get away from the Titleist fittings as I trust the guys Titleist has fitting for them.

Regarding your specs, I have 1” over standard and 1 degree upright. I am 6’3” and have either longer legs or shorter arms relative to my height. So the static measurement would say 1” over standard. But the fitting should confirm that. I used to play 1/2 inch over standard and 2 degrees upright as I crouched over the ball a little more. But as I have gotten older I set up a little more above the ball.

The Trackman in my last Titleist fitting showed how the bottom of the club was impacting the turf so they did not use a lie board. Essentially a digital lie board that tells them what is right.

Not sure where you live but try to find a Titleist fitter or fitting event in your area. The fitting events are outdoors and they will have the big boy Trackman. You may be able to find a Titleist fitter that works out of a club where you can hit outdoors.

Standing 6'2" have been playing Titleist irons at 1/2" over and 2* flat for over ten years. Has a lot to do with Trackman numbers and not so much height but also length of arms and how you set up. I have done both range and indoor fittings by Titleist fitters and at my age the numbers seem to stay the same. I had a Wilson Staff sales rep fit me at 1" over and 2* up for a set of his clubs and one of his demo days and they just did not work. That is a big difference and the main reason I went to Titleist.

A T100 seven iron has 34* of loft. A T150 seven iron has 32* of loft. A T200 seven iron has 30.5* of loft. A T350 seven iron has 29* of loft. At least all these clubs are 37" long. To avoid too many numbers I've avoided the lie measurements. You simply find out what length seven iron works best for you and then start experimenting with lofts and lies. And then work your way through a set.

Seek out a teacher of reputable status first. I'm 6', average size, probably similar to you. For you to be fit at +1 and 2 upright, your swing plane must be pretty steep. That's going to lead to inconsistencies. If your plane changes over time, the lie angle needs to be adjusted as well. This new era of fitters aren't teachers, they monitor data that doesn't apply to 90% of the golfers out there, most try to sell you whatever they get the most commission on. Sorry folks, just the facts here!

  9. Thanks guys, I've book a fitting at a titleist national fitting center in a few week. Atleast I know it will be somewhere reputable I can finally be rest assured the fit will be right. I'll definitely be looking at numbers and see how it all goes!

    Much appreciated

Hope you have a great fitting. My experience is the titleist guys are the best in the business. I know it’s different for everyone but a few years ago I had a fitter tell me I need + 1 inch and just looking at a chart he was probably right - I’m 6’3. I bought the clubs and struggled mightily. The pro at my club said something that resonated with me; I’ve been playing standard length for 30 years and now I have a club in my hand that is an inch longer than I’m used to. My choice was relearn to hit the ball or go back to standard length. I went back to standard and I will never go through that experiment again.
