  1. Hi all,

I ordered new T100 with the following specs around 4 weeks ago:

    T100 Project X LZ + 1.25 inch 2 deg upright Midsize grip

I ordered them through NG (good offer back then) and contacted them immediately afterwards to clarify head weight.

My request: I do not care about delivery time but I want to ensure that the lighter T100 heads are used. Otherwise, with +1.25 inches they become quite heavy. I was promised that my request is forwarded.

After testing the clubs I had the suspicion of standard (heavier) heads right away. Yesterday I put them on a swing weight scale and indeed, they weigh in at D8.5! (Which makes sense: Standard D2 + 7.5 shaft length - 1 Midsize grip = D8.5)

Just as a comparison: I was playing miz MP-20s before (same shaft + length) and they are all D3-D4. This is a significant difference!

I checked back with NG and they confirmed that they forwarded my request including the light head specification to Titleist.

So I am really wondering, why was my request completely ignored? Further, since this is a custom order (+ I already tested the clubs) there is of cause no chance of returning anything.. Did anyone have similar experiences in the past? Anything Titleist can do about this?

This is my first time ordering Titleist irons (played miz for 15+ years) - always thought that Titleist is on par with customisations but this is honestly not very satisfying.

    Hope anyone can help?

Thank you so much in advance!

Titleist does order 2 heads base on standard and plus 2 degrees upright for lie. They don’t order heads in multiple weights. By the nature of casting and forging the weight vary. Titleist then sorts them by ranges of weight for various production needs.

There is something odd about the swing weight. Unless otherwise specified, the swing weights are adjusted to somewhere from D2 to D4 for orders intended for men. C8-C9 for clubs intended for women. Rather than specify by head weight, which doesn’t exist as an order option, you can specify by swing weight. Doing that, Titleist will custom make each iron to that swing weight. Even then, the heads will vary by weight and Titleist will adjust the head weights so the swing weights will match from club to club while building them.

D8 doesn’t make sense unless your vendor made adjustments after receiving them., either in length or grip weight. Your vendor should be able to work with Titleist to achieve the swing weight you prefer.

I am not familiar with "NG"? Is this a company in the USA or is your order from somewhere else? Your name does not include a location like those of a complete profile so it's hard to know if your issue is related to a USA production of one from the other club build locations. Regardless, your best recourse is to talk with someone from Customer Service. There is information at the bottom of this website. Everyone here is a consumer like yourself. They should be able to help you resolve the issue.
