Bought a set of T200 irons. They are NOT stamped FORGED on the hosel. Are they an early model or a clone ?

Did you buy them at an authorized dealer for retail price or at midnight out of the trunk of a car for less than $100? Forgeries are good these days so the only real way to know you have the real thing is to buy from a trusted source.

I actually won an eBay auction for a used set for $600.00 plus shipping. Each iron is stamped with SN 1176141. If this set is a knock off then it is well designed and well built. I waited seven months on my png G425s to be built and shipped from Edwin Watts golf shops last year. I didn't want to have a similar experience with a build delay so I bought this set --- looked almost new on eBay.

Very likely that they are the real deal. Go out and enjoy them. Best wishes on many fun rounds and some of your lowest scores ever.

A couple of points. Does the seller have a “store” with less than 6-10 thousand transactions? Or was it from a private seller with more like a hundred or fewer sales? Shipped less than a week from inside the continental US? Small resellers and overseas shipments are the biggest red flags. Large resellers (and authorized dealers) like 2nd Swing both guarantee authenticity and carefully inspect incoming stock. Chain of custody matters in buying used golf equipment.

You can check the serial number with Titleist. Forgers are getting better about etching numbers, but may just use one number for all clubs of the same type.

My question to anyone is does the T200 usually say forged on the hosel? The head is cast with only the face being forged.

When each club is stamped with a number that means it was a special order. I special ordered a 714mb set and all clubs were numbered

Do they have a serial number on the six iron? If they do you might call Titleist with the number and check with them. No picture, makes it difficult.

Depending on where the irons were manufactured, the serial number is on the 6 iron or on the longest iron in the set. One of my sons has the serial number on the 5 iron and the other son has a set where the serial number is on the 4 iron. Both sets were ordered from Titleist through an authorized dealer.
  12. I bought a new set of T300’s and the serial number was stamped on the 5 iron rather than the 6 iron. I was concerned about authenticity so I contacted Titleist and was told that they now put the serial number on the longest iron in the set and that in fact my clubs were authentic.
So, the serial number always on the 6 iron no longer holds true.

I believe the first release T200 was not stamped FORGED

The T200 I had, then sold said "FORGED - " on the hosel of every club.
  15. My new set has the serial number on the hosel of each iron.
  16. mine are stamped but my mates who are earlier models are not! sounds like they are real just pre 2020.. hope they are anyway! good luck

The 2019 T200 was an upgrade from the AP3. The 2021 version added a forged face. Still haven’t heard what technology is built into the 2023 version, although it is still stamped forged. Early reports are the sound is improved.
The T350 is modified from the 2021 T300 as presumably it has added a forged face. The hosel has also added the stamping for Forged.
One nice aspect of the AP irons was the full title was 716 AP2 and 718 AP2. Just less confusing.
