  1. Hi Friends,

Looking for some insight and recommendations on my existing set of AP2s.

TL/DR: Noob when I got my AP2s and was unaware that there were 710/714/718 etc and my 4-PW AP2s are scattered. my 5i & 8i are 710s. My 6i & 7i are 714. 4i, 9i, PW are the unstamp orignal 08s. Does this matter at all or should I just play the set? If I am planning to change shafts and get them extended, should I make the investment in this set or get a set that is consistent throughout (example all 718, or all 714s)?

I came accross my current AP2s by trading for them and knew nothing about them. I had a set of winter wheels for my car that I said I would entertain trade or partial trade for golf equipment. I got a decent cash offer on top of various clubs which included a AP2 4 iron & PW. At first I thought nothing of it but I started using them and I really enjoyed them.

Shortly after, there was a local listing for the 5i / 7i / 8i that I bought locally and bought the remaining clubs off ebay to finish off the set. Again, I only looked at "AP2" and not the series numbers. Now that im more familiar with brands, clubs, series, sub series I learned about the 710/712/714 and I saw that the irons arnt all identical and im wondering if my game will be off down the line due to the inconsistency.

  2. The short answer is Yes.
Each series is a little different and also, the shaft i'm assuming aren't all the same either.
It's a personal thing and you each club will/may feel different.
