  1. Hello, picked up my first set of blades 1984 Tour Models. According to the seller, the original owner was a PGA professional that actually played these clubs in the US Open. Whether that’s true or not it makes a good story!

He had them re-chromed but not to the original satin finish as he said that was too pricey at the time.

In any event I am definitely going to play these! I am on the hunt for the matching persimmon woods to match these, any help with identifying the era specific woods would be appreciated!

Btw the PGA pro was named either Gary, Greg, or Craig Alt…I can’t remember exactly. Former pro at Sherwood CC in Thousand Oaks, CA.

Nice find. Reminds me of my first set that were hand-me-downs from a PGA teaching pro and mini-tour player. He got me hooked on playing Titleist equipment back in the mid-80's. I am pretty sure mine and all blades back then were the polished chrome. I was pretty good at cutting a nice smile on my Tour Balata 90's with those. :) Hope you find the persimmon woods to match out the set. If you do decide to play them, know that the epoxy is pretty old so the shafts could separate from the heads. Maybe consider having them re-glued. Enjoy!

Good luck man. Technology has changed A LOT since these were considered good irons. If it were me, I'd hang them on the wall or stick them in a bag for the office. Don't make golf harder than it's supposed to be.
