Hi TT, would really appreciate some advice on an authenticity query. I also hope I'm posting in the correct thread so please excuse me if not - I'll happily move to the correct space on the site.

Anyways I can get a great deal on a "custom order" set of Titleist CB 620 but the seller seems a bit suss and any advice would be appreciated.

The irons look authentic to me and supposedly come from a reputable local club fitter but any feedback on whether they look legit to owners of the 620 CB would be much appreciated. There only appears to be a serial no. on the hosel of the 6iron and the ferrules look longer than std. but could be due to the club builder.

Would appreciate advice on whether the 620 CB should contain a serial number on all irons or just the 6i as is the case with this set, and also general thoughts on how these look! Thanks in advance!

If a set of Titleist irons came out of the Titleist custom shop they will have the serial # stamped on hosel of each club that came with the original set. Stock sets will only have serial # stamped on the 6 iron. With-that-said, I'm not exactly sure what qualifies a club as custom in Titleist's eyes. I can tell you that my last set ordered with C-Tapers and adjusted flat were treated as a custom build.

Depending on what has been "customized" on the irons it would be wise to ask who did the work.

Thanks Chris. According to the seller the club builder put the "custom" Accra iSteel shafts in at 1/4 inch short than standard, otherwise all standard specs.

Might be a case the club builder buys stock heads from Titleist and then completes a build? I've asked a few questions related to the background but not much information forthcoming but if they are from the club builder indicated, they have a very good reputation.
