I went for an iron fitting yesterday and decided on the T200’s. My fitter recommended that I order the entire set with 2 degrees stronger loft. From what I could tell, his primary reason was because my distances were slightly less than some of the other clubs I tried. I also think he wanted to get my height down. We didn’t have the time to discuss how the 2 degrees of reduced bounce might impact how well I hit the clubs, and I’m still relatively new to golf, so I’m concerned that the clubs I receive will play differently (and potentially worse) due to the altered bounce.
My questions are 1.) is it wise to have ordered the entire set 2 degrees stronger (granted you all don’t know the specifics of my swing) and 2.) if desired, could the entire set be bent 2 degrees weak in the future (back to the standard lofts) without any risk, matching what they otherwise would have been?
Thanks!
