Just curious, were you fit indoors hitting off of a mat, or was it an outdoor fitting off the grass? Seems that some people that went the indoor route had similar comments as yours. I believe that most people can hit it flush most of the time off the mat, even outdoors.

Keith, don't feel bad. There have been numerous pros that never have performed well after trying to switch to a different style of iron. The T200, while forgiving, does have basic characteristics of a blade. They have shorter, more compact heads and less offset. If you had your AP1's comfortably dialed in and you don't want to spend a lot of time adjusting, no one will blame you for moving back to T300. That does not mean T200 is a bad iron, they are great for a lot of people, just maybe not for you. Life is too short not to enjoy your golf. Best of luck in whatever you decide to do.

Thanks for the responses. After calming down a bit and looking at this more dispassionately, I'm keeping the T200s in the bag for now. Full disclosure, I was fitted at Cool Clubs Atlanta, it was the most technical and detailed fitting I've ever done. It was both indoors and outdoors. On the trackman I added about 15 yards in distance (which I haven't seen) and it was between the T200s and another brand. It wasn't until we went outside and the way the T200s cut through the ground like butter, that's what I decided on. The T300s never even came up, it was the fitter that picked the heads I tried, not me.

Also, I was fit in early August of 2021, hot, the grass is lush, and conditions perfect. I received them Feb 2nd, the weather and conditions have been the worst I've seen in GA since I've moved here. Last Saturday it hailed as we approached 17. Hailed. In GA. In April. Ridiculous. And I'm dealing with just starting to wake up Bermuda which is the worst grass on earth even in the best of times (can you tell I hate Bermuda?) and they punched the greens two weeks ago and they're still healing.

All that to say, I need to cut myself and the irons some slack as things improve (hopefully) over the next couple of weeks.

Glad to see you eased up a bit on yourself. one question i would have is if the specs had any significant changes from what you had previously. I do fittings and when a guy is clearly mismatched on his specs for his old clubs there will be a grace period before they feel right - it can be 3-6 months depending on how often you play/practice to feel comfortable and have 100% trust in new clubs.

The ball used in the fitting could have made a difference on the distance. I don’t trust using a range ball in a fitting and the unit extrapolating to what a Tour ball should do.
What we fail to do is use a club for its usual distance and not the best distance one time. Dialing in your typical distance will improve the results, Even if you have to use a 7 iron instead of an 8 iron

I have. In 2019, I purchased a split set of miz iron. While my score or handicap didn't make any moves up, they just never felt right compared to my AP2's. After a couple of months, I went back to Titlist with the T100 series and couldn't have been happier with my return.

I've been and it's horrible. I was fitted for a set of Titleist 716 AP2's when they came out and never got on with them from day 1. I eventually gave up on them after 4 months and bought an off the shelf set of 716 MB's and only got rid of them this year

Golf is such a mental game and if you're head is telling you you're not going to hit this club well then it's a real struggle

Been there, done that. I can't seem to find anything better than my AP2 718's. In fact, I have 2 brand new backup sets for when these wear out.

Been there, done that. Had 716 AP1's and went for a fitting for T-300's earlier this year with high hopes. It was a disaster. Still have the AP 1's and another mfg's Irons. Yet, when I got fit earlier for the TSi 1 Driver it went great. The best Driver Titleist has made to date in my opinion. That's golf clubs for you. I play with people who have several different brands of clubs in their bag. This wood, that iron. different wedges and putter. And I'm talking some single digit handicappers here. You have to get what's best for your game, to get the most enjoyment out of it, regardless of what's stamped on the sole of the club.

I am still gaming my AP3s (4i-GW) because although I would love to gradually make the shift to the T100S (PW, 9i, 8i, 7i, 6i) my game is not there yet. I have been playing so well with my AP3s lately that my handicap dropped to 9.1, however, when I try to hit the T100s my off-centre hits are not as forgiving as those with my AP3s.

It will take time, but I am willing to wait until the time is right.

I believe it just needs time to get used to it.
I have from various brands (TM, srxn, Cobra, XXIO, and even Inesis) to Titleist, but yet my game hasn't been able to improve, for me is more of the skill than the gear. I need a coach :)
