I've been golfing for about a year and a half now. I'm playing 1-2 times a week depending on the weather. I'm still learning to find my swing so I struggle, but I'm loving every minute of it. However, my girlfriend bought me the new T200 irons for my birthday and a TSi2 fairway wood for Christmas, both were surprises, with the help from my friend that I always golf with. She bought everything standard. My question is, how much more of a difference does getting fitted actually make compared to just playing with the standard fitting?

I don't know if the fitting will help, but she's a keeper!!!
Seriously, a fitting is the ideal way to go, but that doesn't mean she got the wrong clubs. Lots of fittings end up with a standard set.
Make her happy - play with them and tell her they are the perfect setup.
If you think not, tell her she's the best, take her out to dinner, and then take her back to where she got them and see if they will let you try something different. Most good golf shops will do that for you.
Oh, and ask her if she has a single sister looking for a guy in Nevada!!!

Hard question to answer. A fitting might show you are way off optimal or you may have lucked out and got a set that closely matches your personal specs. Without doing the fitting first, you may never know. We always recommend fitting when possible but there are no "golf cops" that will pull you over for playing off-the-rack golf clubs. Most importantly, you are out there playing and having fun. Maybe you leave things alone now (which will make her feel good) and then you ease into a fitting in the future just to see how close you are to what maximizes your swing characteristics. Happy New Year! Hit'm straight and stay safe!

Getting fitted is essential. Clubs are made all standard, if you are tall you may need an 1,/2 inch extended shaft. You may need stiff or regular shafts. Lofts and lies should be fitted to you. You could take your clubs to a pro and have him get your specs. Mist clubs or golf shops ave a pro who can fit and bend your clubs to your spexs. By the way i play the T200 irond and love them. I was fiitted by my pro and ordered directly from Titleist. Hope this helps
