Certainly a personal preference but if you are in T300 for the forgiveness and like the look and feel, probably would make better sense to go T300 48 in a shaft that matches your set. You will be using it for mostly full swing shots so it should give you a more consistent feel for those shots. You can then go 52, 56, 60 or 54, 58 in your Vokeys depending on what other clubs you use to get to your 14-club limit. Good luck, no bad choices here.

I agree with Dale. I have a set of T200s which have similar lofts to the T300. The T200 PW is 43 degrees just like the T300, so i got the 48 degree T200 gap wedge with the same shaft as my T200s . Then I have a 52 degree Vokey that I use for full swings, and a 56 degree Vokey that I use for full swings from 100 yards, as well as partial wedges 100 yards, and around the green. I have a 58 degree K grind for bunker shots.

The T300 set also has a 53 degree wedge that matches the set. But I would recommend getting the 48 degree to match, and then Vokeys after that. I like reducing the loft gaps after the 48 degree wedge.

The recommendation is to have 4-6 degree loft gaps so you really can't go wrong with the wedge options in the T300 and Vokeys.

The key determination is what/how you use a 48 degree option. I have graphite shafts in irons and the majority of strokes with my 48/54/58 wedges are close to the green and partial swings. I prefer the feel of Vokey wedges with the S200 shaft.

Even moving to T400, I did get the T400 ‘s 43 degree option but passed on the 48. Even if I move to a new set of T 300”s, I’ll stop at the PW (43 degrees). But we also have others here that carry the T300 53 as well.

I have T300s and a 48 degree gap. I am doing the same with messing around with wedges. Does anyone know what degree of bounce the T300 48 degree wedge is? Thanks.

My guess would be somewhere between 4 to 8 degrees max. The 48 degree gap is more designed for normal shots through turf so the bounce is probably the same as the other T300 irons. You still want enough bounce in the game improvement irons so as not to dig in too much but not so much that you bottom out on tight lies and catch the shots thin. I am in T300 through 48 degree gap wedge and then 54 and 58 SM9's both 12 degree bounce D grind. Works for me.

Hi Dale, question about your setup. Does your iron shafts match your vokey shafts?

Yes, they do this time. My current set is the first time I matched my wedges to the rest of the irons. My logic before was that I usually played a non-standard shot with wedges and the stock S200 shafts were what I was used to from years of playing Vokey's. Since my T300's are light TT AMT Red R300's I just thought I would try matching them up. I have only played the SM9's a few times now so its a bit early to comment on overall success but I think so far, I and liking the results.

If you haven't got the set wedges, I would suggest you may check out the Vokey wedges for the gapping. Ain't sure how much it costs to get the T300 48 degrees, but for my country, the add-on set 48 degrees is almost as expensive as the Vokey, I will go for Vokey if that is the case. At least I know I can keep the Vokey even when changing the iron set.

I have the T300 set 48 degree wedge as well as 52,56 and 60 SM8 Vokeys. Love the 48, it inspires a lot of confidence. I may switch to 54, 58 for my next set so i can add a driving iron at the top of the bag.

Updating from my July posting. The T300 P I got in the Fall worked so well with the narrower base from the T400 line, over the winter I added the T300 48. Most of my shots with that are 3/4 to full swings.

At least in the US it is about $30 less than an SM9.

I completed a Titleist fitting at my club, tested SM9 48.10F, and compared the Trackman numbers against 2021 T200 48°. Distances were similar, but SM9 shots had tighter dispersion. So, I ordered the SM9 with the same T200 shafts, Nippon Modus 3 Tour 105. My other SM9 52.12F and 58.10S have heavier Nippon Modus 3 Tour 120s.

Basically, the SM9 48° was fitted to the same specs as the T200 irons.

Get fitted and compare your numbers. I was surprised and pleased to get another Vokey into my bag.

You can, but personally I prefer a Vokey sand wedge. If you want to use the 53W as a sand wedge your sand must be pretty coarse. I play T300 irons and love them and took the 53W out of the bag. Here is my current set up. The shafts match my irons and I love the fell of the SM9s. 5-PW True Temper AMT Red 93gm R300.

I play the 2021 T300 6-AW with Mitsubishi Tensei AV Red AM2 Graphite in Regular flex and was lucky enough to find that Carls Golfland in Michigan stock the Vokey SM9 wedges with the same shaft. Playing SM9 54°-10 & 60°-6 works for me.

You will see about every combination because everyone's swing and course conditions are different. For me, I am currently using the 54D12 and 58D12. I prefer the forgiveness of high bounce but the D grind still allows me to open the face with heel relief.
