If you’re not sure you should see a fitter to get the right shaft for you. There’s a lot of options and technology in shafts nowadays so getting fitted can be a game changer!
  3. The one's that work best with your swing! As others will say, GET FIT!

I had never done a fitting prior to purchasing my 718 AP2's and I'm so glad that I did. I "thought" I would fit into a specific shaft, and I was way off.

You can play the guessing game, but finding a reliable golf shop or a Titleist Thursday is your best bet. You may never know, maybe the T100 or the T100S's maybe better.

Get fit and have the fitter provide you with numbers to make your selection easier!

Titleist offers a wide plethora of shaft options at no up-charge because golfers have a wide plethora of swings from transition to attack angle at contact with the ball and speed of the club head. Even a twin may not have the same optimal shaft/iron combination.

Find a Titleist Thursday or find a fitting pro with an outdoor range and a ball flight ("Trackman") device to get the best combination for you. A thousand dollar investment needs to be chosen carefully. Any combination we suggest is only valid for ourselves.

    Short answer - get fit.

definitely get fitted by a Titleist pro, I tried the standard shafts and thought they were perfect until I attended a

fitting where the pro went through a number of shafts I would never of thought of based on by ball flight, swing

speed and found a shaft even better.
  6. I switched from AP3 to the T-200 about 3 months ago. These are the best irons I've ever had. I went from a 9 index to currently a 5 index. Last Saturday I shot the lowest round of my life, 69! Before that it was 73. Have been playing more golf than normal by far the last two months because of this virus. If you intend to get these irons or any for that matter, a fitting is very important. My friends were making fun of me because of the shafts that matched up for me, Aerotech steel fiber. So I'm 51 years old and a graphite shaft lets me his juicy draws in! Doesn't bother me because the money I'm taking from them is paying for the upgraded shafts.

Highly recommend the T series irons and metals!

This is a really interesting post as I currently have the AP3's and have pondered going to the T200's but currently difficult to hit and get fit. Have you noticed significant swing difference between to two? flight? impact? sound? etc..In addition, did they fit you to the SAME shaft that you add on your AP3's?

I mimic the replies above that getting fir is the 110% way to go. I was fit for KBS Tour-V 110 Stiff Shaft and I have absolutely LOVED them. I was amazed how important the shaft makes in the club. This shaft gave me more consistent ball flight and a much higher trajectory which really made a difference in my attack angle.
  9. You can arrange a fitting here in central Florida. Call some courses that carry Titleist and they can arrange it, it's no charge and you can order them right there.

  10. best bet is to get fitted.. Golf Galaxy will do it for like $39.
I just purchased full set of T200s, replacing my old AP2's.. was on the edge of T100, but felt the extra forgiveness fit me better now. although still low single digit hc, I don't play as many times a week..

swing speed kept me with the AMT Black shafts on the irons.

    good luck..
so far, 12 rounds with new irons.. couldn't be happier with the irons.
  11. Fitted for my New T200 Irons about a month and a bit ago.
Split between T300 and T200 as im getting back into full time playing again (before y'know everything fell through) Used to use PSI Tours with Dynamic Gold 300.
I've got a relatively high swing and club head speed so i was given stiff shafts and the choice between graphite and Steel shafts. It all comes down to player feel and consistency so i chose Kurokage 105's because my ball spread was within 5 yards off 10 shots.

    Good Luck,
Still waiting for my irons, hopefully they'll be here before August when i move.

I got fitted two years ago for C16s with PXI 5.5, fitted for 716ap1s with same psi’s two years before that. Game and swing speed is about the same 97 - 100 with driver and index in the 2’s. Going to get fit for T200s to see if they can knock out the C16s. Any shaft recommendations since the pxi is no longer being made?

I've switched from the 716 ap1 to the new t200. I used some demo clubs and really liked them. I'm getting them with graphite shafts, regular flex. Anyone currently playing these and how are you liking them? I'm 72, and switched to the graphite on the ap1's and really liked them.

    Go to a Titleist Thursday.

If you can't do that, go to an authorized Titleist dealer or fitter that has a launch monitor and allows you to hit outdoors off grass.

Any other kind of fitting isn't really ideal.

Glad I saw this. I am going to get fit for T200s and my local golf shop does not have some of the shaft options I want to try in 1/2" over standard lenght. But I assume the Titleist Thursday event will have the options I want to try. I suspect the AMT Black may be too light and give me too high of a ball flight so I want to try the AMT White and Project X LZ as well. Maybe some others.

And most importantly I will be hitting off grass and be able to see the flight. I was not aware of Titleist Thursdays until I started coming to this forum.
  16. I like the T200's, but they aren't perfect. What I like: the head size is perfect for the 5-12 handicapper, center hits feel great while less than perfect contact provides good feed back not bone jarring, balls hit as much as 1/2" off center yield little distance drop off, and coupling these heads with mid high to high launching shafts will generate 5-10 more yards than the previous AP irons. What I don't like: Titleist went overboard on the toe weighting on these heads IMHO. The T200 head is elongated which makes it toe heavy to begin with, so a little tungsten goes a long way. I found these very easy to leave the face open and push shots compared to the straight flight of my unforgiving blades. Anyone else ran into this issue?
  17. I went to a Titleist fitting and am currently experiencing all kinds of problems with my irons. I’m not sure if I should be in the T300 instead of the T200 or if the shaft is incorrect. I’m so disappointed in spending $2000 on irons that I am ready to either sell them or quit the game completely. In short, go with what you think feels best and don’t bother with a fitting professional.

I don't think its fair to lump your bad fitting experience into saying all fittings and fitters are bad. I am sorry yours is not working out like you had hoped. You should contact that fitter and suggest that maybe the consistency of your game better suits the T300 and see if an exchange is possible. I suggest when someone goes to a fitting they communicate their weaknesses and what they want to achieve in their selection. A fitter has no idea how an individual plays, practices, or what they prefer prior to meeting them and seeing them swing a club that day. It's definitely a collaborative process. Anyway, I hope you do get a set up that best suits your game and you find enjoyment that keeps you playing for years to come.
