My love affair with Titleist began at Age 9 when my best friend and I were charged with diving the 13 Lakes of Lake Hills Country Club in south Louisiana. From March to September we would hit those lakes every day and ended up with about 15k balls per season. This was 1970 - 74. We washed, sorted and painted stripes for range balls. But the best was getting the Titleist Balata 90 & 100 brand new that someone lost. I had probably a couple of hundred of them for myself. My practice bag was all new Titleist and I still have a practice bag filled with Titleist ProV1's now. The technology is so vastly improved, but those old Titleist had a ton of feel and boy did they spin, curve and dance on the greens. What was your earliest memory of consciously choosing your ball and what was it. The old Maxfli Blue Max was rare and had the coolest logo.

I took up golf in this century. Figured a box of 15 “rocks” at less than half the price of Titleist was a deal. …Ouch. Hard on the wrists. Still using me as my instructor I moved to srxn Tri-star. Later, won a door prize of the original NXT. They didn’t go as deep into the woods as Pro-V’s. Saved them for special rounds as I still played LOF-NOP especially over water hazards.
