  1. I just received two sleeves of Prov balls from titleist to test and give feed back.

So far I have been gaming the prov1x and love it.

Scored three long drives in my men's league with the Prov1x and my Tsi2 driver.

What do you think is the best way to compare the two balls.

Rotate holes or rotate every 9 holes?

I used the 9-hole method when we were comparing the two proto versions. I think there is too many different shots to get a true feel by alternating one hole at a time. I have also played both balls for a full 18 before, when playing alone and the course being empty. You really get a good sense of the trajectory differences playing the same shot twice, using both balls. Have fun with them and enjoy whichever one fits the best for your game.

A number of us tested those back in the fall and we all have our own method. I played a few rounds with each to get a good feel for each ball. Wanted to get as many strikes with as any clubs on the course as I could. Play a week with the Prov1 then a week with the Prov1x. I play three days a week. Did that for about a month before coming to my final conclusion and ended up staying with my Prov1. Found that the new Prov1 is even longer that the Prov1x left dash. Traded my previous remaining stock of those in for the new Prov1s. Golf balls are an individual thing, feel, accuracy, spin around the green, putt and of course distance. You need to choice the one that meets your particular needs. I also play a TSI driver but the TSI3 Fujikura Speeder 661 TR S at 10.75 and at my young age of 76 can get the new Prov1 over 250 if my game is on. Best in testing.

That's fantastic, glad they did this for you.

While I've never been sent test balls I have done my own A/B comparison. I work with our club pro and find when the course is virtually empty (even for 9 holes) and play the balls side by side.
  5. I do the same thing I prefer two hit two shots with the two balls and see how each reacts

I just recently did a virutal ball fitting and it was suggested to me when it comes to the ProV1x and ProV1,II if you like your trajectory window test the balls from about 150 yards and in. The three things to look for are the flight, feel and interaction with the green (spin). I will have to say after my ball fitting I switched over from the ProV1x to the ProV1 and I noticed I had better results for what I was looking to change. I don't think you can go wrong with either, but you should notice one performs better for your game.

That’s the way to do it in my opinion, Dino! Fit the ball to the scoring clubs and then fit the driver to the best ball for you there!
  8. I also like the side by side comparison. Hit them both if you have the time, That’s the best way to see what they will do.

I did it for a few holes, it didn’t take long to notice the difference in flight and spin.

I made the switch from ProV1 to the X and I love the ball flight so much better, it’s now a staple in my bag!

I have been playing the AVX for a few years. I tried the new ProV1 and everything improved except for the driver. Driver spin was too high. I adjusted my driver by -1 degrees and I am getting the same distance. I may be moving to the ProV1!
  12. I just made the switch from Pro V1X to Pro V1 and do not regret it at all. The V1X was great and played for many months but the small roll out I get on the V1 is much better for me. Either way give them a try and find a way that you feel you tested them thoroughly from Tee to Green and then go out enjoy them!

I'm actually switching back from left dash to ProV1x. The distance difference that drew me to left dash originally on longer shots isn't as pronounced with the '23 ProV1x. Did a short game comparison on shots from 70 yards into short chips as well and I feel the additional spin with the ''X" will be more beneficial to my game personally. The whole ProV lineup is fantastic, so definitely do your own comparison and maybe create a scoring system that allows your to weight each category based on how it will help your personal game. Either way, have fun and good luck!
  14. I have played a lot of different golf balls over the years with mixed results. With that said I tried the Titleist velocity for the first time. I also played the proV but really found myself liking this ball and my score liked it even more. If you haven’t tried them give it a go I think you will like them. Not to mention save a couple bucks.
