    Hi TT

Just wondering have any of you guys tried any of the other balls out there. I have tried them all the last few years and just cant not go back to the Pro V1. I find theres not much diffrence in long game and mid iron play compared to other balls when it comes to spin. Flight is better and more consistent. but the real diffrence is around the greens and short iron contral shots. Its helped my so much because i just trust it will react the way i want it to all the time. The spin consistancy is above everything else out there.

There certainly is a reason that the ProV series are the most played balls at every level.
  3. Agreed....I've tried the AVX, Pro V1x, ProV1x Left Dash....playing each model for 6 to 12 rounds. I've come around to find that the Pro V1 has the best of everything for my game.

AVX - I prefer the softer feel of this ball, particularly when putting and short chips, and what I've observed as less side spin off the tee on my misses....but miss the higher spin into the green that the Pro V series provides. (The old Balatas felt the best when putting....wow!)

Pro V1x - I observe higher spin into the green but the harder feel is not my preference.

Pro V1x Left Dash - Just too hard of a ball for my taste...but it sure seems to be the longest off the tee for me.

Pro V1 Left Dot - Ha! Yeah, right! I would welcome the opportunity to play this ball but I only see them on eBay for $300+ per dozen.

I love the Prov1 but am leaning more towards the Prov1x left dash. Traded some left dots for some. Sure you do not want to hear that. Just did not have the heart to try to scalp those balls on eBay. Not my style. When I finish my current stock of custom Prov1s (3 dozen) , will be putting the left dash (four dozen) in play.

I've tried a lot of the other OEM balls in the past but am now committed to ProV model for as long as it's made. I like the feel of the ProV1 but it just does not come out of the window I like to see and while there is no distance drop from V1 to V1x, the X higher launch works for me. If they made the X a tad softer feeling around the green, I would not complain but how the X is currently is my gamer.

Interested to see what the 2023 ball has up it's sleeve.

  6. I spent years trying different balls, but always came back to the pro v1x. Then they changed them so the x spun more and I changed to the standard v1. Haven’t tested any balls since, they just flat out work for me.

I ran the ball challenge this year starting with the AVX - loved the spin around the green, but ball flight was too low for my taste

-Pro V1x - it seemed to hold on iron shots really well, didn't like the click when I hit putts, but all in all was a good ball just felt too firm for me.

Prov1x - I did like the carry off the tee with this one, it goes about 15yds further than My pro V1. It seems to have more side spin off my long & mid irons I don't like. around the green was good, putting was good. The higher iron ball flight was hard to adjust to, but worked. (actually still have some in the bag)

Pro V1 - I just like the feel, I went back to it knowing I was losing yardage off the tee, but was more accurate with my long & mid irons. Scoring shots have always been great, chipping, Pitching & putting are excellent.

Because of iron shots & feel I had to stay with the Pro V1, now to figure out how to get those 15yds I had with the X out of my Pro V1.

I know a new TSR driver.... Lol

    Bragg Creek,

I'm in the other camp. I absolutely smash it, so the ProV1 feels a little soft off the tee and now that I'm used to the Left Dash, I don't like how soft it feels off the putter. That said, we're splitting frog hairs here. I could easily game the ProV1 or the ProV1x.

They've proven it time and time again. You can't get a better golf ball.
