  1. It's been 2 years since they were refreshed. Anyone know how they will change? It's hard to improve on the GOAT but they'll try. So what's different and when will we (TT) get to test ?

Those are normally released at the PGA Merchandise shows, as I recall. Could be wrong. Next one would be in late January 2023. Believe we got the new balls when we were at Pinehurst last year. Could be wrong. Know I got a dozen Prov1 Black Dots.

Titleist launched three new golf balls in 2022 to cover every type of golfer. AVX, TruFeel and Velocity.

Actually Chuck, Titleist released five new versions of balls in 2022. The three you mentioned, plus the Tour Soft and Tour Speed.

Thanks, Barry. Did forget about those two. Together we can get the info right to those who wish to know. Cheers. =)
  5. CHUCK, ITHINK YOU ARE CORRECT. BUT, USUALLY THEY SEND OUT THE PROTOS. EARLY, TO THE PROS, AND SOME TO US. BY THE VEGAS EVENT, THAEY HAVE BEEN VETTED AND THE PROS TEE THEM UP. I'M HOPING, EVEN AS THECOVID BACKLOG LOOMS, THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.....

To your questions, I expect that feel and spin characteristics will continue to be what they work most to improve. Maybe that means a new blend in core or cover material? Maybe a shift in dimple patterns? We will have to wait and see. As to testing, I would guess the same model used in past years will continue, where a small sampling of TT members will get random mail outs to test and other test balls might show up at Titleist sponsored outings as we get closer to production release dates. Until then, just like you, I am enjoying the relationship I have with the current versions, for me, that's a ProV1X.

Make sure your profile is current and you may be lucky enough to receive some test balls :-)
  8. I understand, through my secure and anonymous "sources", that the new ProV will adopt some of the left dot tech., while the new X will get softer and spins a little less? Anyone who will confirm ?

    Won’t happen.

We don’t even have the lofts or corresponding fairways/hybrids yet for the TSR line. Won’t know if the Pro-V’s will incorporate dots and dashes as extensions next year until the release date. As only a few pro’s use dots or dashes, I would at least for them, there will still be 4 lines as options. Since a majority use standard release V and X, I’m not expecting a major adjustment to incorporate the dash/dots characteristics into the standard release.

MySpyGolf just made the Editors Award to the T100 and the (left) dot Pro-V1 as difference makers in 2022. The T100 as it gets pros to use it and they keep them in the bag. There are MB guys, but not a majority of Titleist iron users.
Nominating a ball not even released was interesting. They expect it will be released as the secondary market is charging upwards of $300 a dozen. And getting it..
  10. Test Balls are always welcome!
  11. Titleist expressly incorporated some of left dash into the 2020 X, so maybe they will us some of the left dot for the new balls. The left dot is a great ball, about as straight as any golf ball I've ever hit, and long. But thet ProV and X are icons, so evolution not revolution is expected.

I love the current Pro-V1 in yellow. Maybe make it a little brighter for these aging eyes.
  14. Has anybody received test ProVs yet ? And is the cycle the same or did the pandemic change it ?
  15. I hope they don’t change the standard v1 too much. It’s been the only ball I’ve used the last two years and the first time I’ve used titleist balls for a while as the previous generation didn’t suit me.

The expectation is that there will be a new ProV line in 2023. Historically the ball is give to tour pros during the Las Vegas event and then sometime after the PGA Merchandise Show in January they make their way to the public.

My guess is they will continue to make the ball more high launch low spin. Make the ball more stable in the wind without sacrificing characteristics around the green.

Titleist just has to offer the Pro V1 Left Dot this time.

I have heard that Titleist is going to drop the AVX ball. (I hope not.) Has anyone else heard this?

Just started playing Left Dash version & like what I’m seeing! Bit more distance and playability with short game still good.

Hoping to receive R & D balls for testing as part of Team Titleist group!!

Just saw where some test balls are going out; really hope to get them again this year as I'm still trying to decide between the 1 and 1x(Long time ProV1 player but started gaming the X this year).
  22. I've never received test golf balls. Yet...
I filled out the survey, fingers crossed!

Long time dedicated pro v1x player!

Don't feel bad Randell. The odds are against all of us in that there are literally hundreds of thousands of TT members since all they had to do was create a profile and add an email account. There are just a limited amount of test sleeves created so it's not unlike purchasing a lotto ticket. Thank goodness the Lotto does not have Forum page where the winners can show off their winning ticket to the many lotto players who never win. :) Hang in there buddy!

Hey, I'm in Yellowknife and have had test balls twice as well as a complimentary sleeve of each for a total of three shipments over the past 6 years. Been a fun ride at TT
  25. anybody get any test balls yet ?
  26. Link to register not working
  27. I haven't seen a new addition to the USGA Conforming Golf Ball List yet. Without that, there won't be test balls or any used by pros.

Interesting, you are correct, they'd have to be there to be played. Typically there are test balls on Tour first, for feedback. I hope someone from Titleist can tell us TT members whether there will be new ProVs in 2023 or will they skip the usual cycle.
  29. I saw a review of the 2023 ProVs on web. So, they must be out there and conforming. The usual white box, the usual huzzahs that this model is better......
