Hello fellow TTers, hope the winter hasn’t been too rough on you all. I have a question on how you store your extra golf balls I’m the off-season if you have left overs. I happened to buy a few dozen and ended up with a dozen left for this season to start off. I didn’t want to keep in the garage so I bought a wooden bag caddie with shelves to keep in my partially finished basement. Question is…what is the ideal storage for golf balls to ensure they play like new? Does cold or heat or dry air conditions in storage cause any issues? How do you store? Appreciate any insight!

Room temperature 65-80 with no moisture and newer balls will outlive you most likely. Just keep them in a closest or whatever and you're good to go.

I'm a sucker for sales, and I keep all the new ones in the house until ready to use. Always start with a fresh new ball, and if I lose it I go to the leftovers to finish the round. Trying not to buy any this year. My current inventory probably will last another 2 years.

I believe the folks at the Ball Plant will tell you that the modern ball is much less susceptible to deterioration than the old wound balata balls. The solid core balls will last for years with minimal issues by keeping them (and all equipment) out of extreme hot, cold, or wet conditions. The most important golf ball temperature is at the point of play. Even if you kept them stored well at home, if they sat in a cold car overnight and you tee them up on a cold morning, you will get a little less distance than if you kept them warm all night and maybe in your pocket right up until play. As for long term storage, a closet in the house works well for me.

You want to avoid extreme temperatures. Storing them in your house will be fine.

I have a chest of drawers in my basement that I store golf balls in. My basement is heated so I don't worry to much about ball performance when I pull them out for use.

I keep them in my mancave. Normal room temperature. Play same ball year round, Prov1. No off season along the coast and lowcountry of S Carolina. We play thru our three weeks of winter.

Mine are always kept in room temps. During winter here on LI especially - no garage or left in car. During rounds in chilly weather kept in pockets....

I keep in my locker at the club until I'm ready to throw another couple of sleeves in the bag.

I usually keep two dozen in my golf bag and another 2/3 dozen in the house.
If I loose more than that in a season, I’ll definitely need to give the game up haha ️‍♂️
  11. No off-season in Texas but i have quite a bit stored for my par 3 green

I keep mine in my home office desk drawer. They should be good to go there. I make a priority to keep away from temperature extremes
