  1. The other day I received a pretty cool phone call from the head pro at my club. He wanted to know if I would be interested in participating in-person ball fitting with Titleist. This was obvious a no brainer for me. I have been playing the last two editions of the ProV1x and then someone handed me a new ProV1. That ball lasted about about 2 1/2 rounds and then started to lose its shiny luster so I donated it the cart barn. I loved the feel of the ProV1 and liked the trajectory off the driver, I felt like I hit less "spinny, ballooning" shots, which has been an issue while I tinker with my TSi2 and different shafts to get the right feel. I am looking forward to getting on Trackman and seeing the numbers, but more so the side by side on and around the greens as I make a living getting up and down. I will let everyone know how it goes tomorrow but I was curious if anyone else has had an in-person ball fitting and their thoughts.

    Cheers for now!

I’ve attended the Titleist golf ball fitting events in the past. You get to hit a 50 yard wedge shot, 7 iron and driver and based on your results are provided two options to continue testing on your own. I’d love to be able to spend more time with a fitter and really dial in the golf ball, especially with all the options Titleist has these days.

I actually posted about a ball fitting I did a few months ago on here. Same thing got a text from a pro if I was interested and couldn't say no. The fitter had 4 bags filled with Titleist; ProV1, ProV1x, dash ProV1x and AVX. Spent a good hour hitting balls with my PW, 7 Iron and Driver and then short game area. I've always played the ProV1. When I was done the fitting, the dash ProV1x was the better ball for me. Yeah I was shocked and so far it's been a lot of fun playing this ball.

HIGHLY recommend taking this opportunity if asked.

I wish more courses would offer this or at least you could this at Manchester Lane.

  5. Hi everyone, checking back in since my post a few weeks ago. As Sean and Speedy have said, if given the opportunity, take advantage of an in-person fitting if your are serious about your game. I had about an hour and a half with Carleigh. She did a quick interview asking me what I wanted to get out of the fitting and reviewing what she would be looking for in our session. I had the opportunity to hit 50-70 approach shots with my 60 degree, then onto 110-130 shots with my pitching wedge. We then moved to a 7-iron and the driver. By then I was mostly dialed in between the ProV1 and Prov1x. Luckily I was striping my irons that day and Trackman was validating my carry distances. The Prov1x was giving me more spin and a better landing angle on my irons, truly producing that one hop and stop. I then hit some chips, pitches and lobs with just those two balls. It was pretty awesome to watch the difference between the two balls side by side when chipping. At the end of the day, the two of us agreed that the ProV1x was the way to go for me. Happy to say in my last three rounds I have shot an 80, 80 & 75 using exclusively a ProV1x. At the end of the fitting you also get to take advantage of the buy three get one dozen deal. Overall a super cool experience. I could go on about how each ball performed against the other for me. If you want more info on that let me know, happy to post more.

    Cheers,

On Friday, I have booked a virtual/online/remote ball fitting session, however, after reading this post, I have strongly considered doing an in-person ball fitting. THank you for this post.
