Long time Pro V1 in play for me here and love it.

Over the weekend we had a silly but a fun tournament, "a designated ball" was involve in a three some (for the lack of better explanation) but the player of the "ball" in every hole will count while the other two scrambles for a score...etc...etc...

Anyway, Titleist Tour Speed was issued to each group. What a great opportunity to try a ball, I said to my self. But you guessed it... all I really want to say is how nice it was to have played this ball.

We had wind all day- up to 32 mile an hour, though it was clear skies in the mid 70s temps. It wasn't that bad.

The ball felt soft and it had a nice lower trajectory on my drives, woods, and long irons. The spin was pretty good, and I almost could not believe it- the ball was performing solidly and with good distance- it was amazing!

What a good ball this is. I used to ignore, but if you're ever out somewhere and this is all the shop has in stock, be don't feel bad- try it. Or if you ever just want to try this ball- man, I'll tell you, it was a lot of fun. My driver speed play varies from 97-102. Yes, compression.

Anyway, I couldn't wait to tell this group about it. Am I missing something, guys & gals? Have you played this ball- what do you think?

I like it and I won't be afraid to pick it up at another opportunity.

Thanks for reading (go easy on me on this- I was just excited about a ball)

A buddy of mine plays it in the winter when it is windy and chilly. He speaks highly of it. He normally plays the Prov1. Me, I play the same ball the year round, Prov1, and am always past him (and he is ten years younger).

I loved the EXP and I love the Tour Speed. I'm playing the Pro V1 normally but occasionally think or going back to the Tour Speed. Not sure I'm a sufficiently accomplished player enough to tell a big difference.

How could we ever bad-mouth anyone for playing any version of the Titleist line? It's okay to sleep well tonight. Cheers!

Thanks, Dale! ...come to think of it, I've also played the Velocity in a scramble. That ball is a rocket! :-)

I think every Titleist ball has a player in mind. But I just Pro V1 most the time. But in a Titleist outing at Maderas (I'm sure you remember that fun day very well :-) I was playing a Pro V1x left dash. Gosh it was amazingly good!

Thanks for the positive feedback on the Tour Speed. I'll definitely try it if the opportunity arises.

With any Titleist ball, you play what FEELS good. Keep hitting them straight and in the fairway No'l. You are right about that Velocity ball, it is like that ER battery pink bunny, it keeps on going an going and going. Play well, pal. Sometimes trying something else in the line is good for the soul. I hit an X every now and then....with respect.
  8. Is this ball similar to the old NXT Tour? I really liked that ball, and was sorry to see it go. We had an Assistant Pro at our club that was also a fitter for Titleist. He used to call it "the poor man's ProV1".

The NXT Tour and NXT Tour-S were replaced by the Tour Soft. The Tour Speed could be considered the Tour Soft on steroids. Promoted as longest in the mid priced range, it also has a urethane cover that should improve green side control So the Speed is the most like a Pro-V.
  10. I was a Bridgestone ball player. I played the ball for my swing speed which is under 100. I’m 52 and I’m a 6 handicap. I tried the new Titleist Tour Speed balls and love them. Haven’t played Bridgestones in 4 months. I shot 69 the other day and it was great. Ball really is the best golf ball I’ve ever played.
  11. Played one for a couple holes today, and it played well. Long and Straight off the tee. Felt good off the irons, and around the greens. I usually play the ProV1x, and this ball felt a bit softer. I liked it.
  12. I am a senior golfer and just tried the Tour Speed ball. They have about same distance as the Velocity I normally use. Tour Speed seems to stop quicker on the greens. For my money I will stay with Velocities as they cost $12 a dozen less than Tour Speed. Cost makes the difference
  13. Played Tour Speed with little to no wind and dry fairways. Played a Velocity at the same time by hitting 2 balls on every shot. Picking the best ball and 1 of each again. Velocity preformed best 14 out of 18. Velocity longer and straighter. My score was 78 by using the best ball and getting 2 putts per hole like a one man scrabble Will keep buying Velocity

Velocity is going to be the longer ball. It is by design, a longer penetrating golf ball. For those who are strictly concerned with distance, then this is definitely your ball and are cheaper in price. Control can be an issue. That is why Titleist makes so many levels of golf balls. Something for everyone golfer. I have hit the ball and just to hard for me. Kinda like the Top Flite, which are also distance golf balls. Prefer the Prov1, which provides plenty of distance and lots of control around the greens.
  15. Been playing golf for 50 years. Have used Titleist balls when Professional 90 and 100 were the ball to use. Next DT series, NXT followed. Professional players use ProV.s for the indorsement money they receive. What’s the best ball? Must be what Accunet marketing says it is.

Thanks for the tour speed balls to try and report on. First of all I am 84 years old, play 3 times a week and have a 15 handicap. Slow swing speed (80 mph). This ball feels good off the club. It's as long as any ball I play. Love the action on the greens. Really liked it. You've got a winner here. Thanks for the opportunity.
  17. Have been playing Bridgestone balls for a few years now. Recently received a sleeve of Tour Speed balls from Titleist. I have used them in my last round, and I will now be exclusively using the Tour Speed balls. Great trajectory, great feel, and longer than any ball I have used. I already play Titleist woods and irons, and now just rounded out my bag with TT.

I played the EXP-01 which I understand was a prototype issue or very nearly the same as the Tour Speed which I now game. I have never hit a ball with this degree of feel, green side and iron spin, and DISTANCE--big time. This ball feels juiced. My friends ask me if my clubs are "corked" lol. Keep up the great work Titleist !
